Dimension Data are sponsored by Nederburg - it's on their sleeves and shorts. Nederburg make wine, but alcohol advertising is strictly banned in France. How is this possible?
Is it? I never knew that! Kronenbourg 1664 used to sponsor the Tour didn't they? Or was that only the Channel 4 coverage?
Perhaps they don't consider South African wine as wine in France so that's how they're getting away with it.
I must admit to finding it quite funny that they have 'neder' and 'berg' written on their bottoms.

That's an excellent guess, but I cannot get the cricket where I am, so it is not correct. It is definitely cycling-related.

Why on earth do they ban alcohol advertising in France? It isn't Saudi Arabia. It's France. Home of wine.

The law was relaxed in part a while back after the french wine industry lobbied. An argument could be made that the way Nederburg is depicted (i.e. no slogan, bottles of wine or images of drinking) that the logo is only "information" and not "advertising" per se.... I know it sounds weak, but from what I gather that is how the law was changed.**************************************************
