Lots of riding North today as they head towards the Alps:

Some little hills makes it a chance for the remaining sprinters, perhaps:

Especially considering the last kilometre is as flat as a strap:

Weather forecast is dry, warm and sunny. The wind has subsided but will remain around 20km/hr with gusts up to around 35km/hr. As it will be coming from the North it will create a head wind for much of the day, so the pace may be a little slower. If a break does go away, expect it to struggle unless it has enough riders to deal with the wind, and to avoid being brought back by the sprinter's teams.

This is the same as an early stage of the Dauphine last year won by Bouhanni.

    Flat and boring basically

A 50kph headwind all the way isn't going to help, either.

Flat and boring will suit some of the GC men just fine. Some recovery time will be appreciated I'm sure. Having said that it'll be wacky races now.

The source of the Rhône, The Rhône Glacier above Oberwald, because geology and stuff.

Can't have a stage start without some of this.

7kms covered in the first 14 minutes and there doesn't appear to have been a breakaway attack as yet......

Presumably no one fancies riding into a headwind for the whole day. I imagine some publicity attacks will start when they're on TV.

Is the Tour of Poland on TV today? They've got a decent stage.

It is, but only on TVP 1.
Kennaugh showed up at the front for a while, yesterday.
Gaviria got the lead out that Kittel dreams about for the Tour. 8)
Kwiatkowski taking on the sprint, too.

Roy, Howes, Benedetti and Elmiger have about 3 and a half minutes lead and the average race speed remains just 30kph.

Cyclin news say that Howes is chasing Cannondales first top ten finish of the Tour. really? That's pretty poor.

Warren Barguil has a proper hissy fit over what looked like a standard puncture.
And the French wonder why they can't produce a Tour winner......

Ok then...What that girl below can do with a bike will leave you SHOCKED, although I reckon Chris Froome can do about half of them.
