Flecha on Eurosport on a bit of a climb down from his stance yesterday (i.e. that the actual stage result should stand)... maybe got a talking too last evening

Brian Holm just said that this is very much how most of the peloton thinks, undestanding why Bauke is well p'issed.

I'd be interested to know if 'most of the peloton' also think that Yates should not have got his time reinstated on stage 7?

Whats Yates' TT like? Have we seen him do many TTs when he's had to try recently?

See those Gendarmerie motorcycle outriders, just what is it they actually do ? Because they did sweet f.a. on yesterdays stage.

Dumoulins socks / overshoes looked pretty long, must have been close the height limit

There was a Police bike, it was clearing the way. Unfortunately there were then three media bikes and, unsurprisingly, it was those that the crowd decided they'd take on!

Yates 4th to Henao, Quintana and Contador at the 16.5km TT Tour of Basque

That had a similar profile although much shorter than today

Tom D rides a TT bike so well. Visually probably the best looking TT'er since Wiggins.

Thanks for that - sounds like he has the potential to be able to defend a podium spot if he puts in a good ride then.

I thought you were joking, but he's there. Sitting pretty in 26th overall.

Yates joked yesterday at the end of backstage pass that he is going to lose minutes to Froome today.

Are you sure...? He should be off just before Froome seeing as he's 2nd on GC, and Froome won't start for almost 30 mins yet.

Huh? His start time should be 15:36 BST - is he stealing a march by starting an hour early?
