I'll put the bill for the translation fees in the post, although I did have to Google the word for ditch as I found a terrible gap in my Italian.
Nice wobble in to work this morning, perfect day to be on a bike as they'd closed the A316 and the traffic was fubar. Bit hungover so my body think it's Thursday, out again for beer tonight as it is of course Wednesday. Looks like the A316 is still shut so I'll enjoy passing the traffic on the way home as well. Bunking off early as I have a check up at the dentist.

Cheers, I'll see how far that gets me when we're touring The Vatican :D

Busy day and its time to escape and have a drink at home to stop my head hurting after too much tax thinking! Must do less of this...

Long day of work meh with a particularly upsetting end as I missed the start of a local ride - so all I can see is loads of mountain bikers in the woods behind the house :(

I wish they'd stop doing road works around the North West, it's driving me mad. It's not like they're filling in the pot holes either, they just seem to close the road, doss about and then reopen it 20 minutes into rush hour

    Today I work, then rest.

    Morning worms,

Day of getting stuff ready and shouting 'lock up your daughters!' as I'm heading to Blighty tomorrow.

Having to chop loads of wood so mrs13 has enough for the fire for the two days I'm away. Still need to pack a bag but won't need much.

I guess if she asks you can honestly say 'I got wood' :)

Bit chilly riding in and out of work and a bit of frozen stuff falling out the sky this morning. Got loads done and just waiting to pick Stropteen up from some fund raising gig at her school, so no cider for now  Am buying popularity in the office tomorrow by buying a mahoosive round of bacon sardines.

    Almost - Saturday.

Offering to buy a bacon butty round for the office on a Saturday might make me look a bit tight :)

    Stevo's Birthday Saturday

    Happy Birthday Stevo

Today is dealing with the start of man flu. I'm going to try and run it out with a mate whilst the wife does kids taxi stuff

Then I'm taking a tree down with the tree surgeon, then some friends are coming over for the kids to play together & then the rugby - which will involve ale, but not too much as we are out for dinner with the neighbours later

    Busy day

    Anyway, arriverdeci twunts :P

  • Mehnday Morning

    Morning Losers!

I cannot be ar$ed with doing anything today. My radiators aren't producing enough heat, so my house doesn't feel warm at all. According to the interwebs, there may be sludge in them, so the system will need draining. Apparently this can be a messy, expensive process, and I'm not looking forward to it, however it's feckin' cold when I wake up!

    Meh

    Morning tuckfards,
I take it you've bled your radiators TKM.
Had a bit of a shoot weekend as the Mrs found out her brother has a terminal case of the big C on Fryday. As a result I tried not to behave inappropriately and to be sympathetic and caring. These are not things that come naturally to me so I'm being grumpy at work today, I've already told my boss I'm going to kill him to death if he carries on being cheerful. He's just made me another cup of tea so I think I should carry on with the threats of violence.

    Morning Tards,

We're off to the Colosseum shortly. It's about 15 degrees and sunny here so I may need to put suncream on :P

Sorry to hear about bro in law V68.

    Morning turnip heads,

Having friends for dinner so operation clean the house and panic is in full swing. Also got to get the gite ready for guests tomorrow who i assume are over for a romantic valentines stay, don't think I'll be involved in the removal or laundering of those sheets!
In other news we have a pig that is 'in heat', only lasts a couple of days but the fear of a wild boar giving her a seeing to is a bit scary.

Yep. Well, tried to, but they don't need it. You bleed when it's cold at the top and warm at the bottom, to release the air, but this is the other way round. It could mean more water needs letting in to the system, however my system doesn't have a water inlet...

    Tuesday / St. Valentine's Day
    Morning Losers!

Work went quite well yesterday. I've actually come up with 'projects' that's keeping retard minion quieter. Not silent, but there are longer moments of bliss now.

After work, I'm heading over to Bury for a quick pizza with my dog-walking friend, before I abandon her to go and watch the football. A true romantic I am.

That's dull, apologies for asking the obvious question. When I've worked on my system I take one of the plugs out of the top of a radiator to put the inhibitor stuff in with a flexible funnel. Presumably there is a drain somewhere in the system. Not sure how you get the sludge to move out of the radiators other than taking them off and flushing them out. Sound like a right pain in the aris.

Anyway, happy valentines day all. Did everybody get a card and some flowers for their right hand? Not too much going on here, quiet time of year so the day is mainly filled with stupid question and quoting for stuff people won't buy. Going out to meet the Mrs for lunch a bit later, I'm such a romantic.

You can flush them out by opening the valve on the lowest radiator, I assume you have a wine cellar or torture chamber in your house - and apply pressure to the inlet by the header tank which should be in the loft. Add some chemical stuff from Wickes or wherever and blast everything through the system.

Alt ask the plumber to do a power flush about £100 in civilisation but probably less up north.
...take your pickelf on your holibobs.... :D

    Morning Losers!

Cheers for all the advice on bleeding radiators. As I rent, it's down to the landlord. The plumber came last night, he said that the radiators are old, so looks like I need new ones, and maybe to flush the system at the same time. The problem is that the entire system is old, so flushing could create leaks. Maybe it's time for me to get contents insurance!

Today, I just have to get through, and then I'm having a relaxing evening in.
