There are no vet schools in Wales yet, first intake 2020 apparently although still quite unofficial.
Where will that be? Junior will be a 2020 intake if she gets a place.

Aberystwyth, same places as a certain iffy PhD student...
We can't send her to banjo country :)

Will keep an eye on that as her UCAS application isn't till next October.

I’ve obviously not been paying attention Bird, assumed you were at a vet school in Wales.
Did think you might be getting shot of some kit Stevo, might be worth having a chat sometime. He is taller than me, but has slightly shorter legs. Probably looking at used stuff as he is a hard up student.
Daugher’s driving lesson went well, she didn’t kill anyone at least.

Nah, finished with vet school a few years ago, then got fed up of vet life so went back to uni to err... work hard :?

V, coincidentally Stropteen is out having a lesson right now. Good luck to the neighbourhood.

Re the DH kit, I'm looking to have a bit of a clear out soon. I've got two sets of most things (including bikes) but will probably keep one set just in case I ever feel like another go - you never know, one day I might feel like I'm not injuring myself enough :) Stuff like goggles and knee/shin pads will fit most people. Drop me a line whenever.

    Ho, ho, ho, Ho's.

Finally on the wind down to the Christmas break. Much desk tidying and general work avoidance will be happening this week. I am looking forward to nearly 2 weeks off and a chance to chill and hopefully ride bikes.

The Boy is having a little panic as it finally dawned on him over the weekend that his UCAS form has to be completed in a few weeks and he has so far done three fifths of seven eighths of bugger all. He also has his driving test tomorrow so was looking a bit worried last night.

    Morning bumders

I really don't miss those UCAS days.

Today will mostly be looking at the shitload- genuinely massive shitload in fact, of data that I've got to analyse and try to make as much progress on it as I can. Meeting with government type vets in the new year so need to have something, but equally don't fancy working over Christmas so, for once, during the season of miracles, I shall be working a full day!!!

Busy day today but pretty good. Got all my Christmas stuff sorted and the boss gave me a nice bottle of Pinot Noir to keep me going over Christmas. Well for one day over Christmas anyway :)

Office Christmas party tonight - that means lots of free grog and drunk colleagues/minions to keep me entertained. Should be fun :)

Not been here for a while, still looks like it is frequented by the same dangers to society

Working from home as I’m out with the fun bike lot later, only problem is I have a decent ride ride between me and the start/finish pub so I may use the cx bike

Quite glad i cannot look at 'racy' pictures anymore though I'll have no bother getting a fake passport, id card or visa. I see the rules for the crudcatcher were updated this morning at 10 and already just over four thousand have viewed them! That's a lot of lurking!

Any hoo, I've been out and drilled a wall for a mates mrs who also could do with a good.........
Got other friends round later for foods and boozes though i reckon i have manflu, something less serious like ebloa would be less of a pita!

    Afternoon, drillers, fillers and fluffers.

Well, The Boy passed his driving test yesterday and I am still reeling at the ridiculous cost of insurance. He is now on a 30-day cover note on my insurance while I take my time and laugh at as many insurance agents as I can. How they can quote and keep a straight face is beyond me.
I was contemplating a new full susser in the Spring but I can't see that happening now.

In other equally happy news, my MiL is arriving today to stay for an unspecified duration. I have told her she had better have bought me a very expensive Christmas present or she'll be sleeping in the garage. Firm but fair, I think.

    Comiserations JBA.

    Evening Wasters,

I survived the Christmas party last night and walked away with 2 bottles of vintage Tawny Port from the Xmas raffle. Shortly I'll have to ride the bike home as I dumped it in the basement at work so I could get lathered on free drink :) Could be a slow ride home...

That kinda covers it for me this evening :) Out in town for beer and curry with a couple of mates - my last taste of freedom before the family prison sentence that is Christmas...although not the last taste of grog by a long shot.

    Evening, mucus warriors.

The forums are very quiet today. Have the mods started deleting users as well as all the entertaining threads?

Half-day in work tomorrow and then I’m off for 2 weeks. I can’t wait. Work is a just a big steaming pile of dog dirt that gives me no pleasure, no fulfilment and no chance of any sort of promotion. Could 2019 be the year for change?

Sat in the back of the car this evening while The Boy drove to athletics. I was more nervous than when I was in the front when he was a learner! No one died though, so I guess I should try and relax.

Bg13 - you know the drill: 2 brufen and get on with it.

Last day in work this year! oh, yes. :)

Food shopping this afternoon then I am switching to full-on loafing mode. Boozes and TV will feature highly over the next week or so with the odd bout of bike riding if I can be bothered.

    Afternoon gender confused,

Chucked it down all day so that and manflu has meant a day of loafing. Reckon management will have me grafting tomorrow though.
Did manage to buy a lottery ticket so I'm now looking at what jet I'm going to buy.

    Bon weekend one and all.

    Evening Festive Gimps,

I'm home and hosed. Supposed to be working from home on Monday like everyone else - yeah, right. Time to crack open that vintage port I won in the Christmas raffle I reckon :)

Absolute COAD. Utterly knackered now. Went to work to sort some stuff out, didn't finish but had to leave again at 10 to go to funeral number 1. From that straight to number 2 then back to work to finish what I was doing. Got home after picking up some scoff on the way and went straight out to the pub for a swift one. Well, maybe two.
Very glad it's the weekend. Have to go in on Monday and pretend to do some work before going to another pub.

At least you're through it now V. Home straight to Christmas bar a few hours of pretending to work - bit like me. Strifey has prepared a jobs list for me for today, including getting a present for the dog  However priority #1 = put skis in to be serviced :)

    Afternoon festive fuckups,
Busy day, had to do my Christmas shopping, took the daughter with me for guidance. Couldn’t have done it without her. Now that’s done, more beer.

Another miserable day, still leaking loads of lung butter so sat in front of the fire and watched some rugby and had a good laugh at some football scores!
