Covers which are better than then the original

This dates me, but I'd not heard another version of this since it was on the Two Ronnies forty years or so ago, with Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson. I'm not sure it's better, but it's a good version of a great toon, if you like that kinda thing.

I'm just surprised it wasn't a 6 hour read with all the cover versions inexorably illustrating our society sinking into dystopia.rick_chasey said:

This is far superior to the electronic vomit of the original. And reveals that Miley really does have some talent under the skimpy clothing. (That and that Black Mirror episode)We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Watched them doing it last night. Don't age us quite so much, the original is only about 35 years old. Definitely a better version but then leaving the nasal sounds of Elaine Paige off anything can only improve it - the Lilly Savage version with Barbara Dickson was an improvement on the original as was Susan Boyle singing it with Peter Kaye (as Geraldine).briantrumpet said:This dates me, but I'd not heard another version of this since it was on the Two Ronnies forty years or so ago, with Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson.
