"Donald Trump could reverse cuts to arts, poor and elderly if he stopped staying at Mar-a-Lago"
Could, but wouldn't.0 -
#trumprussia on Twitter is going a bit nuts tonight, with Comey telling the Intelligence Committee that no-one wiretapped Trump Towers, and that the FBI is indeed investigating both Russian interference in the election, and the contacts between individuals in the Trump campaign (and looking into any possible crimes). They've actually been reading out some of Trumpballs' bonkers reaction tweets in real time in the committee, countering their reality-defying content.
I am trying to keep in mind that Trump is (still) actually the US President. It's quite hard.0 -

I'm surprised Trump hasn't managed to start calling Comey 'commie' to get his acolytes all worked up.0

Will we get a Trumplosion tonight?0 -
So who's in favour of Pence as PoTUS? Trump is a fruitbat, but Pence is the real dark side.0

Agreed - but unfortunately, Trump has made Pence seem like a conscientious liberal by comparison...0 -
Would Pence also be implicated in the Russian stuff though? Maybe the whole nest will get destroyed.0

Maybe Spicer is lining himself up for writing satire. He claims that Trump's golfing is "different from Obama's" ... “On a couple of occasions, he’s actually conducted meetings there, he’s had phone calls. Just because he heads there doesn’t mean that’s what’s happening.”
That's alright then.0 -

Louise Mensch is predicting he'll be out during the summer - hopefully she meant 'this' summer.
She also believes that Putin had Andrew Breitbart assassinated.
She has drawn a distinction between things she reports, and things she says she believes (which don't need any evidence). I find that quite confusing.0 -
I think there is a problem with the approach here. Unless they now prove direct collusion with Russia, they will be shouted down as having failed to pin him down.
If they had stuck with Trump being an unwitting ally of Russia, not knowing that he was being used by them, he'd already be skewered. Particularly after his appeal to them to hack his opponent. Which kind of implies he knew they were interfering.0 -

The main problem is that it can be relatively easily argued that his ties to Russia and his encouragement around them hacking and releasing democrat information were known ahead of the election. It's all there in his tweets.
The argument goes that, realistically, the Americans who voted him don't care. Otherwise they wouldn't have voted.
This isn't the '70s, where the idea of an American president bending the rules is wholly unacceptable.
We underestimate how much uproar there would be if he was impeached, legitimately or otherwise.0 -

I don't think it is confusing - in fact the clarity is quite refreshing. It's quite reasonable to believe something may be true, while accepting that there is no evidence, or not enough evidence to prove it. Science works in much the same way - develop a theory, which becomes a law once validated.0 -

The problem we have is that, contrary to my earlier statement having looked around a bit, Pence is worse but Ryan is a fruitloop as well.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Am I the only person who would be disappointed if GCHQ were not listening in to Trump? The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I bet those boys in Cheltenham are having a right giggle.
Warning; Off Topic:
I used to deliver there when it was a building site.
In Cheltenham and amongst my friends, we found that when you made any phone call, there was often background noises. We used to joke along the lines of "Hello boys - it's alright, i'm only ordering a Pizza" when you were on the phone.
Before GCHQ was completed, there were buildings all over the place but none of the back ground noises whilst on the phone.
In reality, it was probably 'Welly Test' (Tele West) cable TV and phone lines. Who knows?seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

Nowhere else to stick this but an interesting, if worrying, read.
