Well, the vast majority of you clearly haven't been paying attention recently, as you didn't predict Biden stepping down, or the Republican's winning for that matter. I don't remember any of you predicting interest rates rising from historic lows either.

Absolutely everyone predicted interest rates would rise from historic lows. Because they were historic lows and couldn't go any lower.
Most people also, for every election in the US, predict that the democrats or republicans might win and that it might be close.
But not may people predicted that Biden would step down as late as he did, including Biden. Because it's never happened before.

Some suggested that interest rates could be negative I think, and there were a handful of economists who suggested low interest rates were a forever thing.
I'd have said that most thought that at some time interest rates would likely go up, it's only a useful prediction if you can predict the time at which they go up.
I'm pretty sure I said the election was a bit of a coin flip. It turns out that Trump had a much stronger result than I would have predicted, but then high inflation is an absolute killer for politicians.
