    I'll say it. I'll also say that they are causing the covid to remain longer by not not letting it get on with doing its thing.

    The US has a massive problem with obesity as does the UK. Little wonder why there's a problem. A legitimate view is let the population have it, it will bounce back.

    Well you're in luck, the republican party are trying it out, and not sparing the old.

    So far, Hope Hicks, Don, Melania, senator Mike Lee, senator Thom Tillis, Kellyanne Conway, Bill Stephen (campaign director), Ronna McDaniel plus three white house reporters have tested positive.

    They'll all have families and friends. They had a superspreader event at the white house.

    It's an interesting case study. You can do risky things lots of times, and no-one much gets infected, then boom. One event results in a significant spread.

    Bit late for that now, it's a week on. They were hugging, shaking hands, Bill Barr was wiping his nose and then shaking hands, talking closely without masks. Then some of them went to the debate prep with Trump.

    Like I say, an interesting case study. It might not even have been that outdoor event, but probably an event connected to the Supreme Court decision. More to come, no doubt.

    Seemingly all sorts of experimental treatments given to Trump... would that be the case if he was doing so well?
    I would think there is genuine worry that he will get real bad real soon

    One conspiracy theory is that this is a Chinese assassination attempt.

    The interesting thing with Trump going to hospital is that normally aren't the first 5-7 days just mild symptoms? You imagine Trump will have been tested straight away so will still be in that "safe" period. So it seems likely they are throwing the kitchen sink at stopping the virus progressing - is that simply because he is the President and gets the best treatment or does it suggest his underlying health is worse than we might think and doctors don't think he'd survive if it progresses to that second phase.

    He was also tested early as a precaution. I think it was 9 days before BoJo got taken into hospital but from memory he was symptomatic before getting tested.
