    Pressed on nazi germany comment. Going to build a wall. Could wait, but won't. Mike Pence leading an effort to get final approvals to begin. Going to start. Mexico will pay for it. That will happen whether it's a tax or a payment, it will happen.

    Oh dear. Some of that will have to be edited a bit until it makes sense written down.

    At least we know the details of how he is going to make Mexico pay for the wall. It is because at his rallies, when he asked who was going to pay for it, they shouted "Mexico". So that is who's going to pay for it. By a payment or taxes, but probably not a payment from the Mexico government who are fantastic by the way.

    Has no-one else picked up on the fact that a guy who owns hotels is saying that he is careful what he does when staying in a hotel as he knows that the rooms could be filmed....

    Not that, but Putin has history of doing exactly that in Russia, so would be wise not to do it there.

    I found it interesting that he wouldn't have done it because it might be filmed, and because he's a germophobe (rather than because it's not what a respectable married man should be getting up to).

    If the FSB weren't involved in this, I think they and Putin must hardly be able to believe their luck. If Trump continues as he did today, the US will effectively have no-one in charge.

    But the overall impression is that the USA is about to be run by Alan Partridge.

    It's not as deranged as you'd think. Apparently Mexico does get a stack of aid/funding or whatever from the States which is considerably more than the cost of the wall so he can threaten to withdraw that if they don't pay for the wall. Of course, it's probably not that straightforward in practice.

    Expect the 25th amendment to become a major discussion point in the coming weeks...
    The Twenty-fifth Amendment is essentially a housekeeping measure, passed to clean up some ambiguities in Article II's provisions for the presidential succession. If the president dies or resigns or is removed from office, the vice president takes over. If the vice president dies or resigns or is removed from office, the president can choose a new VP, subject to confirmation by Congress. If the president submits written notice that he is no longer able to carry out the duties of his office, for whatever reason, the VP takes over. And last but not least, if the VP and a majority of the cabinet all agree that the president is no longer capable of carrying out the duties of his office, the VP can temporarily take over as Acting President. If the president disputes his removal from office, the Congress must decide whether the president should regain the powers of his office or whether the VP should remain in charge. Needless to say, this last circumstance has never happened in American history, and it would be pretty crazy if it ever did.
