You mean he will look bad to the Trumpistas. Every one else sees he is bad anyway.
Trump already caved then, under pressure from the people who pull his strings, he uncaved and went loopy.
He needs to keep the madness going for now because it deflects from the Wall Street crash - Apple discovered what gravity is like - there's a China crisis, and he may need to cave on that one to his buddy president Xi.
Of course it was Trump who caused the China crisis probably trying to deflect attention from all the other crises he caused.
One day he will roll them all up into one big crisis like consolidating unaffordable credit card debts. Hopefully he will be in jail around then.0 -

Put him next to Putin he looks weak; put him next to rocket man he looks weak. That's a bad look.0 -

I don't really know who you mean by the Trumpistas.0 -
Good to see even elements of Fox News shooting down the false rhetoric of Sarah Sanders and the Trump machine; The Fox News Sunday host played a clip of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen claiming that her agency has stopped over 3,000 “special interest aliens”—anyone who comes from a country that has ever produced a terrorist—”trying to come into the country on the southern border,” and informed that press secretary that President Trump’s own State Department has found “no credible evidence” of any terrorists coming across the border from Mexico.
But Sanders doubled down, saying, “We know that roughly, nearly 4,000 known or suspected terrorists come into our country illegally and we know that our most vulnerable point of entry is at our southern border.”
“Wait, wait, wait,” Wallace said, stopping her there. “Because, I know the statistic. I didn’t know if you were going to use it, but I studied up on this. Do you know where those 4,000 people come—where they are captured? Airports.”0 -

Only six immigrants in the terrorism database were stopped by CBP at the southern border in first half of 2018, NBC News reports.
Sarah Sanders said the number was 4,000 in fiscal year 2018.0 -
Wouldn’t be surprised to see the fake president declare a national emergency this evening at the speech he’s arranged, it’s the only way he can build his wall without government support. Desperate man, desperate measures.. sadAll lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0

Interesting thing about that clip is how it has not been promoted by Fox News, but has been by all the other news channels. I can't find it on Fox News website search.0 -

If the networks don't show this announcement of an invented emergency in response to an invented crisis, he will call them partisan. But he will call them partisan anyway. He called them crazed lunatics yesterday.
Playing the media is the one thing he is actually skilled at.0 -
I think with this announcement the media is screwed either way, its better for them to show it an then they can pull it apart in critique after, rather than not show is an as said be labelled as Partisan by Trump.
I would imagine it is going to be him stating its a national emergency, worse than the fires in California or storms in the southern states a few years ago. Only benefit of this will will be the shutdown issue should be resolved.
Mean time Mexican's will continue to swim round the wall or just fly into the country as before.0 -

Yes, no doubt a lot of them will go around any wall and maybe arrive through Canada. And if it's not S. Americans it'll be some other conveniently powerless minority.
Another crisis to hide, another border, another wall.0 -

The democrats have called for equal airtime to react/respond to what he say, getting interesting, shame its on 9pm eastern timeAll lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0 -

So by showing it, he's now going to stop calling them the enemy of the people and the opposition party?0 -
clear solution is to build a wall, around trump
then extreme evangelical pence can show what he's made of, should be entertaining as even trump doesn't worry about him, then it's countdown to 2020 victory for any semi-competent opponent (do not assume the democrats can handle that bit)my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -

Pence has been debasing himself by going round doing interviews today, not even trying to pretend that Trump has not lied, just that it doesn't really matter.0 -

It would be vastly less expensive if they just used existing infrastructure:0 -
Listening to the Marc Maron WTF podcast today (latest one with Steve Coogan) who has an interesting take. Hopes Dotard does manage to get funds, the wall gets partially built, it will never be finished, and will become this monument to stupidity. Future generations can visit and wonder why and what happened.0

"I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”0 -
Well that went as well as expected; with the exception of mentioning terrorism the same lies, false statements and unsubstantiated claims as every other day.
When I saw he was to go down the route of a humanitarian crisis I thought maybe he'd change tack and would pretend to be a bleeding heart liberal to gain Democrat support but no, just the same lies and rhetoric he's been pumping for months. This was despite warnings following interviews over the previous 24 hours with Huckabee Sanders, Pence and Kellyanne Conway that the lies were already discredited.
As president, businessman and human being he lacks the most basic intelligence to be able to adapt his thinking to the situation instead using transference and projection to deflect away from his many incompetences.0 -
