He stopped lawmakers from using military transport to go to a war zone, but allowed his wife to go to Florida for another break on one
. But Melania Trump, the first lady, kept her plans to fly on a military jet to West Palm Beach, Fla., to go to the family’s Mar-a-Lago compound
And having told her she should use commercial flights, when she planned to do that, it seems the WH leaked those details.

He's got Tweetarrhoeia again today... nothing better to do, it seems, as everything is going so swimmingly.

Actually, if his goal is to destroy America from inside, it might be seen as going swimmingly: the more disruption he causes, the more he edges towards his goal, or at least the goal of those who are using him. If you view it from that angle, everything he does actually looks less like an accident.

If there is a state visit could we have the Duke of Edinburgh drive him around?

Cohen's in depth knowledge of Der Trumfen family is one big can of worms that has opened up.
...and Cohen will try and reduce a sentence by whatever means. I guess we can thank plea bargaining (more common in the US than the UK) for that.

It looks like Buzzfeed jumped the gun as far as Mueller is concerned. Slowly, slowly catchee monkey..*

*apologies to any monkeys offended by this comparison.

Typically, and quite rightly, the Special Counsel has revealed little and hasn't revealed what was inaccurate about the report.

Humourously Trump saw the Counsel's response as a vindication thereby the president validating the role of the Special Counsel as the determiner of the facts. I imagine that won't last long.

    Hump day for Trump.

As someone who has for so long relied upon bait n switch to draw and hold people's attention to his half-arsed ideas, to have his ideas countered and bettered by the opposition before he could even present them is going to leave him really upset today.

As said before, in this card game he's playing snap whilst Nancy's playing poker.

Haha, he's off. Six 'presidential' tweets already. Struth, he's flailing.

I doubt this episode will enhance the reputation of the Church of Rome, especially in places like PRC where it is regarded with suspicion due to its chequered history in that country.

Have just finished reading 'Killers of the Flower Moon' an excellent non-ficition account of events in the 1920s.
.. a searing indictment of the callousness and prejudice toward American Indians that allowed the murderers to operate with impunity for so long. Killers of the Flower Moon is utterly compelling, but also emotionally devastating.

It would have been nice to think that there could be no return to the bad old days.
  • This made me chuckle. Trump posting manipulated (fake) photos to make himself look thinner and have longer fingers;

    From Twitter today:
MUELLER NEWS: Mueller's Grand Jury is meetin' today (Thursday) which is a bit unusual. WaPo reporter Spencer Hsu notes the last time they met on Thursday was the day before the last batch of indictments were rolled out on Friday.

one count of obstruction of an official proceeding, five counts of false statements, and one count of witness tampering.

Let's hope that's just the aperitif.

  • I hadn't appreciated that these indictments are coming because they lied to congress in Devin Nunes' pretend investigation. That is hilarious.

Maybe he should have got them vetted by the FBI?

Although thinking about it, that's what is happening, just a bit late. He should be grateful though.

I have a feeling if the FBI vetted Trump he'd fail. Dodgy as hell.

It seems that whatever procedures there are, the White House will flagrantly ignore them when it suits. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news ... ed-kushner
