It already has with the Weiner texting and the "imminent" arrests in May.

It's easy to be right some of the time if you repeat everything you hear.

There's a fair bit more to it than those two issues though. As I said earlier, she's got a lot more right than she has wrong. And even if the rest of the stuff is only half right, Trump (and possibly Farage too) are both in deep trouble...

Of course there is - and some of her stories turn out to be true, some she's got wrong. I don't like "reporting" where you think that maybe half of it might be true. It's all a bit Fox News.

If it turns out that there WAS a meeting with the Russians that really involved Page taking a tape recording of Trump saying that he's up for a bit of collusion, then I take a lot of the above back. We're living in a weird world.

  • Fascinating how much travelling and meeting people Papadopoulos has done since his arrest and plea. London last week. Wonder who he met with?

Though presumably it's that 'professor' who initiated the contact.

I also like how GCHQ was sticking its beak in, letting the CIA know who Trump was meeting.
  • Plus, of course, he's already pleaded guilty at that point, IF the picture is correct, and cannot travel unless the FBI sanctioned it.

So, either he's being put out in the world as a mule OR they're getting him to put stuff on social media saying he's travelled.

In either case, this is fascinating stuff.

Think we need to remember the target isn't necessarily Trump, it's Russia.

Mueller wants to get to the bottom of exactly what Russia knew and did.

If that involves Trump (and we expect it does) than so be it, but Trump ain't the target, it's the Russians.

Definitely, a multi-faceted investigation. Trump is just the muppet who become president by being played by some clever agents. It's these people who are Muellers targets. Mueller can't investigate/indict Russian nationals

His appointment was to investigate "any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump" plus anything that they find along the way while investigating that.

    Manafort spends $1m on rugs.

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/paul-mana ... le/2010260
Jason Nazmiyal, a prominent Manhattan rug dealer, looks at Manafort’s rug spending and tells me, “It doesn’t make sense.” This is not the behavior of a high-end collector. “If you want to spend a million dollars, would you go to experts, or would you go to one of the about-to-go-out-of-business stores in a small town?” He answers his own question, “You don't go to the local dealer.”
  • Whilst there is evidence of collusion with the Trump campaign it is the "plus anything that they find along the way" that's got to be personally concerning to Trump.

As they've shown with Manafort and Gate they've gone after them on tax and income fraud as well as the effect to the US of their associations to Russia and as we know Trump has failed to release his taxes, has sought to set a red line for the investigations on access to Trump financial information and has had financial ties with Russia in the past.

If they can justify a good reason to investigate Trump finances it could unleash a whole can of whoop ass.

Great time for the White House to be concentrating on tax reform.

I feel slightly personally responsible for GCHQ's involvement; I don't know how much building supplies I delivered there when the new building was being built.

As D. Rumsfeldt might have said..
"As we know, there are things we know Mueller knows; there are things we know we know but we don't know if he knows. We also know there are known things we don't know about; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones where we don't know who knows what we don't know. "

Indeed. I hope Trump can't sleep. It could be a fun ride over the next few days/weeks/months...

...if Trump doesn't get us all nuked first, as a distraction.

If he did, he'd probably try to find a way to pin it on Hillary.

Well the truth is, I could have delivered stuff there but I don't know if I did or not and even if I have, all the people I have spoken to said it would be ok if I did, though I don't remember if I did or did not but it's quite possible that I didn't.

It's not entirely unlikely that there's been a little communication since Pap flipped. That would bring a smile to Mueller's face.
