You need more weaponry than that.

Pedals can come off other bikes.
    Watch your hands though!

Current crank side pedal held in by a helicoil - best not remove it....

New pedals picked up from Halfords, so fitted and tested tonight :-)

Big fan of Sungod so have some pacebreaker coming to review.

I've been wearing their custom casual model for over a year and they're bloody great. High hopes.

I just got a pair of Crivit sports glasses from Lidl today. They come with 3 sets of lenses and a pouch. Yellow, clear and dark (mirror finish). Been wearing them all day and they're ace. Really do cut out the glare.

Ta. Surprisingly it takes me far less time to write those. Mind I only start them when the structure is in my head.

I've never heard of them before but they do look interesting. I'm in the market for another pair of cycling sunnies to add to the collection and will now wait for your review - particularly interested in how the optics compare to any other make that you have personal experience of. I'm a big fan of Rudy Project and IMHO their lenses hold their own against Oakleys which I dislike as a brand for reasons that I won't bore you with now. If the Sungods come close, they will be a contender.

I've had the Renegade for a year. Don't really look after them, chuck them in the drawer, they stand up to some punishment. I take way more care of cycling glasses so, provided the lenses are up there and fit is good, they look like a winner. Clear lens is £20, so will be picking that up too.

    Hey BTR

Confused by your super commuter review... would you size up for mud guards for my bike? I assume you made do with existing guards.

With winter on the way I need to get some new tights, I normally go for bibs and warmers but this year fancy a pair of bibs, any recommendations?
At the mo I'm leaning towards the DHB roubaix but are there others worth considering
    Thanks

Size up the guards? No, I have the SKS 35's. With 25c tyres. No space for 28 with the SKS35 and I doubt I'd get the SKS 45 on there.

So if I keep the Challenge PR 28's on I have no guard option?

Someone else said they got 28's on with the 35SKS. There are still plenty of other options, some 40mm width ones for example. Just not SKS chromoplastic. Think there may be other 40mm SKS ones too.

Sungod album there. Initial impressions are excellent. As good as Oakley for sure.

  • Shan't be too long. There will be inevitable comparison with Oakley which is both fair and unfair to Sungod. Aside from a tiny tolerance issue along the lens/nose interface which does nothing at all in relation to performance, I'd say they are a steal. They don't come with a capsule case (you can buy that separately) but then the relevant Oakley model is £100 more.
