Is Cavendish riding?
No word from Etixx yet on who is riding0 -
Interesting ish Sky team. Pretty strong. Be interesting to see how Henao does over the three weeks after injury and how Boz fares a this first GT. Still not keen on Roche, even after his work on the final stage proper of the tour.
015 Tour de France winner Chris Froome will lead the team for the final Grand Tour of the season alongside Sergio Henao, Mikel Nieve, Vasil Kiryienka, Christian Knees, Ian Boswell, Salvatore Puccio, Nicolas Roche and Geraint Thomas.

Well, we'll find out in the next day or so0 -
Cav and Swift are the two most likely GB contenders for the Worlds course? Id say the ToB will be the preparation for that.
Also, Cavs having a baby this week, he wont be at the Vuelta.2020/2021/2022 Metric Century Challenge Winner0 -

No wonder he only managed the one win in the Tour. And he's hiding that bump well. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

Thats why a year ago i introduced 3 GT challenge to big 4. it is NOT fair to pick the race, hide and save energy. This has to be regulated
Sure Alberto won't race Vuelta and Giro next year. We'll be back next #TDF and fuck them all. They all know who is the boss of the business
He does have a point.0 -

If there's one thing Tinkov *doesn't* have, it's a point. Except perhaps oxygen thievery.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -
Personally I believe the three GT challenge is a good one and ensures the main GT protagonists face each other. Much better than the focus always being the TDF for most people.0

I think it's a good idea too, but he's talking out his arse if he thinks it's not fair. It's exactly fair - everyone has the same opportunities (unless you ride for Oleg and he forces you to ride yourself into the ground to prove some petty point).
How would you even go about regulating that sort of thing? Some sort of points-based system where top ranked riders are forced to ride all 3 GTs? I suspect they'd very quickly stop being top ranked riders if you did that.0 -

There's a world of difference between what you or he would LIKE to see, and Stinkov crying 'its not fair, boo hoo'0 -
Almost all of the top GC riders will start two Grand Tours this year- a big change from the past. Tinkov is just upset that the others picked their two more wisely thus denying him, in his mind, an inevitable Contador double (despite Contador not having even been on the TdF podium for six years)
Three GTs is too much for anyone. I want to see sportsmen performing at their best not struggling and exhausted. Plus a bit of variety is a good thing. I've often dismissed the Giro as a race for reserve teams and Italians, but it's probably a better race for it.Twitter: @RichN950 -

Assuming all of the "Big 4" that Oleg invited to his 3 GT challenge had accepted and performed even worse than Contador at this TDF, Alejandro Valverde would now be champion.
Kind of highlights exactly what folks who thought the idea was pure fantasy were saying."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Fair points, yes doing two GT's is good.0

Fabian Cancellara returns from broken back to start Vuelta a España
It’s hard enough to come back from breaking vertebrae in your back once in a season, but Trek Factory Racing‘s Fabian Cancellara has recovered from the injury twice in the space of five months.
The Swiss has been named in Trek’s squad for the Vuelta a España, with one eye on preparing for the UCI World Championships road race in Richmond, Virginia, in September.
Cancellara first sustained the back injury in a crash just 20km into the start of his first cobbled race of the year – E3 Harelbeke. That kept him out of the Classics season but he returned in time to start the Tour de France and wore the yellow jersey on stage three.
A high-speed crash on that stage left him with exactly the same injury, but six weeks later he is ready to embark on the three week Vuelta.
“Fabian comes to the start with different expectations and goals than other years because of the injury, It’s absurd to think that he’s doing this for the second time this season. But everyone knows his talent and his capacity to recover.” said Trek manager Luca Guercilena.
“I have no doubt that he will build great shape in the Vuelta. The first week won’t be easy for him, but he can suffer a lot and he’s determined to finish the season on a high!”
