The problem with this particular unwritten rule is that winner of the sprint gets €800. Now Degenkolb and Sagan may sniff at that, but Vaugrenard might quite like it, so I don't have a problem with him trying. Sagan and Degenkolb as the better sprinters shouldn't have lost it.
Despite being my man, I'm not a fan of Degenkolb's temper.
Thought it was E1500?
Either way, the point stands imo.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -

Exactly. He probably doesn't earn a huge amount (certainly compared to money bags Sagan) so why shouldn't he try to get some prize money. It's a race after all...0 -
Vaugrenard beats Degenkolb and Sagan on the line in the intermediate sprint breaking one of the many unwritten rules of cycling.
I've just come in, which unwritten rule is that, please?
Not to interfere in a competition in which he has no interest (the green jersey points)
Ok. Vaugrenard would have known that?
I suspect that he'll be playing the same card as you when they come knocking on the team bus door in a while.
Hey guys, not everyone knows every single unwritten rule, ok?
FWIW my husband has been very seriously injured in a bike accident (viewtopic.php?f=40013&t=13032044) so give me a break, thanks!0 -

Pish. There's prize money on offer. If Sagan and Degenkolb want the points they should beat him in the sprint, which they're perfectly capable of.
Yep, their own stupid fault for not making sure they won it.0 -

I don't understand why the other GC teams are letting Sly take it easy here?
I would have thought the best tactic would be: See how Sky want to ride it, then do something different?
