Sagan trying to break the front group before they start to attack him. Smart cookie. Chapeau.

The nose of Marmande, nice to see he's still getting a bit of airtime, though he's probably creaking a bit nowadays. nice to see him in a couple of breakaways this tour.

Who's best on GC in the break? Presumably they're all well back?

You'll have to narrow it down quite some way!

25km Hansen and now Haller have 1 min on the first descent to Gap.

Someone going to have to risk losing this bringing Sagan to finish.

    MTN in virtual team lead.

Vincent Lavenu: "It was not punctures"
The manager of team AG2R told France Televisions that the punctures at the back were actually due to melted tarmac: "The wheels were sliding and the riders had the impression they had flatted but it was not punctures," he said.

    That was why Beloki crashed

Sagan needs some of those ToC queens stage climbing legs to get anything out of this stage. His group is catching the leading pair now though.

Sean Kelly just said Sagan will be trying to get some of the other riders to come over him on the climb.

    Yes, I went there.

Just got in, why are the GC so slow, why the massive time diff to the break? Ta.

Just turned on ITV Player to catch the end of the stage.

It looks like its showing the Maillot Jaune is + 20 minutes behind !

Is this a mistake, am I seeing things ?

Sagan closing attacks with the ease of Geraint Thomas closing Quintana. What a rider.

Where's Contador and TGV then? Whats happened to the GC standings?

No, this happens sometimes. No-one can be bothered chasing. The highest rider on GC at the front is Serge Pauwels who is 40 minutes behind.

Anyone know what odds Sagan was for today's stage? I looked at the profile this morning and fancied him on that descent, but doubted if he could get into another breakaway and over the final climb without losing too much time. Looks like I was wrong on both counts

Sorry, I was just being cheeky and winding Ben up. All together, nobody fell etc.

I imagine he was about 100-1 to win but evens to come second.
