De Jongh was asked today whether Tinkoff were going to try something during these intermediate stages to get Contador back into GC contention.
His rather subdued response pretty much left no doubt that they don't have much confidence in their team leader's ability to recover lost ground.
Instead, the team are set to put all their resources into supporting Sagan in his never ending quest to go one better than second place.
Kind of sad, really."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

I think Sagan just didn't have the legs.0

Bidon made from Superglue. Ive never seen a cyclist hold onto it for so long. Will he get away with it... I think he's French
Should only be an administrative fine. It's not like he took a wheel from another team.

Watching Vive le Velo at the moment. Guesting tonight is the Flemish speaking Robbie McEwen.
They showed a bloke frying an egg in a paella pan, this afternoon by the roadside.

Currently still 29C.
Enjoy tomorrow's jaunt, lads."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Quite a lot of splits and quite large ones too for such a short climb. I guess the run in was pretty brutal given the break was strong.
Reached 44 degrees out there today which Nibali said he has only ever experienced before in one stage in the Vuelta. Froome said they were getting bottles every 15 mins.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Chapeau to the Cannondale rider who chaperoned Peraud home. The surface looked gravelly (top dressed), so it looked gruesome.
What is going on with Sagan ? he has no mojo during the podium ceremony. Doesn't look interested.
Good coverage by France 2...All the gear, but no idea...0 -

Great stage
Often a great source of top racing, the transition stages.....this one had all the right ingredients, challenging weather, beautiful scenery, mixed and tough roads, a bold breakaway (I mean the final 3), a full gas peloton chase with multiple teams doing the work, some real bravery and a storming finish.0 -
Well said qpp. Btw, someone new turning up during the Tour and talking about the race is a rare and welcome sight0
