    Barguil:
"I know this climb but because of the crash from yesterday I had no force. I tried to continue to fight and it paid off because I came back on the descent. I knew all the climb and the descent, I knew at the top that I could push more and on the descent I knew where I had to break full. I am really happy.

"I broke my helmet yesterday and my head was really painful last night and it was really painful today on the bike but I was only thinking about racing."

    Majka:
"I didn’t choose this stage but I knew that it was really hard and… it’s the Tourmalet, it's not an easy stage. I like this weather, it’s warm. Today I had the support from my teammates to be in the breakaway and I’m so happy.

"This victory is for my teammates, for Ivan Basso, who is now at home, and Daniele Bennati, who crashed today. And also for my family, who stay close to me, and my wife, who is gives me a lot of power."

    Contador:
“Peter was able to sprint perfectly and took the green jersey. Rafal grabbed very well the opportunity, caught the breakaway the moment one needed fresh legs and then crowned it with the stage win. It could have been a perfect day if it weren't for the crash of Daniele Bennati and his withdrawal from the race. It's an important loss to the team. He was a fundamental part of our squad in the first half of the Tour and if we didn't have him, I would be a near catastrophe. I hope he doesn't have anything serious."

Congratulations to Tinkoff also for creating the break that gapped Greipel and enabled Sagan to take the green jersey.

Zak Dempster was 29s outside the time limit today, but allowed to continue by the jury.

Nearly 46 minutes behind and 10 behind next last rider. Tough day.

Nice win by Majka but strange that he would abandon Contador especially with the losses on the team. We'll see if he has anything left to help today or are they going to leave Contador to his own devices?
Impressive from Barguil. Brave descending from a guy who had suffered a big off the day before.
    Good ride from Voeckler .
Interesting that Valverde is still beating the best climbers in the sport. I looks like they are underperforming though.

Honroubale mention to this guy. The only neo pro in the race and took third on the day. Pretty damn impressive.

"I'm really happy with the third place but I am also completely tired. It was a super hard stage – throughout most of the day in the attack. It’s just awesome that it all led to the third place for me. I just rode my own rhythm and it went really good. Today, we all had the freedom to ride for ourselves and we all were trying to jump into the group. After a long fight, I then made it. I am very happy and the result is even better."

Nice story on Zak Dempster. There's a great video on the Sporza live feed, all the way down, of him bursting into tears after finishing 28 seconds outside the time limit yesterday: http://sporza.be/cm/sporza/matchcenter/mc_wielrennen/Comp_Tour_de_France_2015/1.2376337

Anyway, the TdF decided to let him start anyway today. Apparently, riding all alone in front of the broomwagon, he crashed against a cow! :?

Apart from the crowds and cows, a bit of a dull stage that one. Stage 12 should hopefully be better with 4 decent climbs spread evenly though it... potential for Porte to be dropped, as in 2013, then the race could get interesting.
