93.38kph for Valverde on the descent is the fastest recorded speed - have to say that isnt THAT fast...
there's only been one mountain stage though, and it wasn't raced all that hard.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -

Your re supposed to sneer "yeah like you could ever do that raver you tit" so that I can tell you about my descent of the Chrimea Pass a few weeks ago where I hit 60mph!

I haven't seen all the data yet, but I don't need to. You only had to watch it. There's no way that wasn't the record slowest time on the Tourmalet. What is going off out there?...a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

It's OK I hear you can get a TUE for it.Correlation is not causation.0 -
I only saw snippets of today. Did Martin misjudge the chase? He seemed to be closing fast at the end. Was he only able to close the gap to Majka when the road went uphill and ran out of tarmac?0
-
Congratulations Majka on a very strong performance and a superb stage win. Very little time lost to the GC group and a ton of time solo. Always a joy to win a stage with the Tourmalet in. Nice that Tinkoff let him go, not hold him back like Sky would have - if all teams were like Sky it would not be worth following stage races at all.
A pity that Majka went and blew Frenchies little dig by telling everybody he went commando and without a free pass from Uncle Oleg."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

I haven't had the chance to watch today's stage, but I am wary of any stage winning performance from Majka. Did he give any winks to the camera en-route to glory?0

Given the logistical complexities and technical challenges involved, I think Dimension Data should be applauded. It's a small step towards a much more informed viewing experience. They need to learn from this Tour and improve, but equally broadcasters really ought to be making better use of the data.0

He missed the initial breakaway and bridged solo across a chasm of time (3 mins apparently). This may be why was unable to follow Majka over the top of the Tourmalet and he may not have had the luxury of timing his chase....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
View from the struggles of the bus, I take it it was confirmed he made it?

@LL
Fair comment - I think they ve done the same with the Cameras too. For the first time this week I saw them used as part of a highlights package cut so in with the normal pictures so that they had some sort of context. That was much better than just saying "here watch this"
Likewise the Lemond On Tour thing is getting better. Greg is better at speaking and they are using Flecha much better. Plus having proper "studio" interviews with riders like they did with Michael Rodgers today - which Sporza have been doing for years I might add - is much better than just getting PR platitudes from the main contenders. We actually got quite a nugget out of Rodgers ("we can get second place") that I bet the normal interviews wouldnt have gotWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

In fact Laurens TD and Kwia's Strava files show 64.6 mph and 63.5 respectively.
Sizeable wedding veg this pro lot have, always impressed. Never been able to try it flying down a silky smooth Alp/Pyrenee though, it may be less scary than I imagine compared to 50 ish I've managed on UK roads.Edinburgh Revolution Curve

I'd not really thought about this before, but my recollection is that an older figure grooms an abandoned, abused orphan by feeding their drug habit (with 'cosmic dust') in return for 'friendship'.

Got a puncture on the way to the club run so came back in a sulk and am watching the ITV highlights program for the first time this year. Have to say watching Nibali get dropped today was horrible. You have to feel for himWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I note there is no sign of Skylimit on this thread. Just proves he has no interest in cycle racing, merely accusing anyone involved with Sky of doping. :evil:0
