Are sky clean or not?

...some past employees who might have a real grudge against Sky to be ready to tell anyone who would listen about the ins and outs within Sky, warts and all
I hadn't considered that before. but, given SDBs well documented sacking of anyone he thought wan't giving 100% I bet there are tens, if not a hundred, people out there who have a very real reason to bear a grudge. The fact not a single one has come forward with any allegations is very telling.

All considered evidence points to Sky being clean.
<snip>
David Walsh, Armstrong's nemesis, said that within three years of Lance's rise to prominence he heard from six of his team mates that Armstrong used banned drugs and techniques. Three years into Froome's high performances, David Walsh has stated that nobody, including those that Sky has fired, have said anything against Froome.
I find that interesting on a few levels. LA, if my memory is correct, was not averse to a bit of litigation to shut down discussions of his doping, his team too I think. Despite that there were 6 team mates talking to David Walsh about him. Fast forward to modern times, Froome and team Sky. Are they as litigious? Are they more powerful or dominant in the sport than LA and his team were back then such that silence is more guaranteed? If not then why not some sniff from sacked Sky personnel or riders who have been let go? It is not evidence of being clean as that is not possible to produce but IMHO it helps to point in a certain direction.
Still it is easier to sling mud than clean it off sometimes. Hence the French physiologist is able to produce some calculated guesswork which still trumps the actual figures in the French public's mind. Indeed in a lot of the public's mind. I will not follow that but will believe them to be clean until I see a positive test or the French Police raid overnight during the Tour one year. If that happens then I will change my mind and believe it.0 -
I reckon that if it wasn't for the landslide which ruled out the use of the Galibier and the Telegraphe, Quintana could have overhauled Froome over what would have been three climbs on the penultimate day.
Movistar were definitely on the ascendancy, whereas Sky were beginning to suffer. G hit the wall the day before L'Alpe d'Huez, and was still short of energy that day. Porte had been ill, perhaps as a result of being punched on stage 10, and was still recovering. As much as Nicholas Roche and Wouter Poels tried, they were no replacement for G and Porte in the mountains. To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.0 -

Were Sky really dominant? Sure they won over all but they were second in the team classification almost an hour behind Movistar. Tinkoff were then about 3 minutes behind them, Astana a further 13 and MTN a further 2.
In the top 50 they had 4 riders, including the winner. Movistar had 4, 2 on the podium. Tinkoff had 5 including their sprinter Sagan. Astana had 4. Ag2r, Europe Car, also had 4 and MTN had 3 for some perspective.
People think Sky are dominant because they often ride on the front and are very visible. They aren't dominant, well no more than other teams.0 -
A truly conceited article in Lemonde by Vayer. Mind you , take a look at Quintana's figure from the Alpe

As he had done in 2013 in Ax and Mount Ventoux. He sickened and stunned his opponents to the famous Armstrong trainer Michele Ferrari, who wondered if he had not the genes of "pronghorn antelope."
That's the main problem for Antoine. No respect. Also contains a fantastic "scientistic Kerrison" dig.

Note how Froome's Tour average is less than last years winner, substantially less than Contador's 2009 win,
and less than Quintana's. In other words, even using Vayer's flawed methodology Froome's performance is right on the borderline of what he himself considers believable.0 -

Sky or Movistar would almost certainly win in the UK courts. The Lemonde print edition is circulated in London.0 -
Chris Froome's aggregate time to complete the course of 84 hours and 46 minutes is the second quickest time to complete the Tour since Lance Armstrong. The quickest since Lance was Froome in 2013 with 83'56"
It's also quicker than Indurain, Ulrich, Riis or Pantani“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

Given there is absolutely nothing at all, in 6 years, with any substance at all about Sky doping...we need some extraordinary evidence.

I'm usually pretty easy going, but this Vayer/Sallet type lot are getting right on my tit.
If I was Froome, I'd tell them to stick their Tour de France right up their arses, and go and do the Giro and Vuelta next year. I know it's not all of France, but there's been enough of this to suggest it's a fairly antipathetic attitude the majority have. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

You're quite right. Nothing more than conjecture and opinion. Looking forward to someone with something however spurious, but based on a link, a bust, a motoman, an email to Stefano, Dave's missus dropping him off to meet Ricco in a McDonalds car park, anything really. That'll be a start.
EDIT: The only thing I can see at the moment is Servais Knaven that has anything.0 -
Well there is a 2nd positive for EPO in a month at Androni-Sidermec and the thread discussing that at the Asylum gets 15 posts. Meanwhile the thread on Sky continues to melt the internet.0

Froome's transformation coincided with the removal of a superfluous kidney, scrubbing an immediate 500g prior to Vuelta 2011. It was transplanted to an appropriate host and he'll get it back, provided he keeps to the story.

What is "the other place"? I feel like I need something to tip my sanity over the edge but do not know which place you mean.
PS my workplace is pushing me close to the edge but I need time off and the asylum is very attractive right now for a bit of time off!0
