Can't believe Sky placed so highly given the squad they have compared to the others.
Looking forward to the mountains now and hope Froome's ultra high cadence and super rested body doesn't walk away with it.
Would you like to do a team by team analysis to demonstrate why you seem to think they have a weaker squad? They've still got 9 left for a start which is an advantage over many others.0 -
I wonder how much time difference Froome not wearing his own skinsuit cost Sky.
None. He should have had a parachute suit on to help the others keep up.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
It will be all change again when Quintana romps away to 30s on the first MTF. Ironically, one of the downsides of 5 top contenders is the number of capable chasers. Big gaps are going to be tough to find....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

Yes, but we've seen plenty of times that you can get a couple of bike lengths because its someone else's turn to chase... And it raises the possibility of a quick alliance in attack.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
Unfair to say Roche cost them the win when we don't know how much he gave earlier.
Tbf, this is of course the correct answer.
The finish line is where the finish line is.0 -

Thomas and Kennaugh both Olympic gold medallists in team pursuit. Froome and Porte both excellent time triallists. Stannard and Rowe excellent classic riders with big engines. Roche, Poels and Konig maing up the rest - hardly a weak team is it? What was more surprising was how badly wrong they got the tactics in the Criterium du Dauphine.0 -

You do realise they spent the last 24 hours adjusting it to suit their needs?Contador is the Greatest0 -
I'm still hoping Quintana can win this in the mountains but I can't see how anyone could take back the best part of 2 minutes when Froome is in this kind of shape.0

Because he has hardly raced this year. 20 something days compared to Quintana and Nibali's 30 something compared to Contador's 40 something.
Easy life for some.Contador is the Greatest0 -

We don't know if Froome's climbing has improved since the Dauphiné where he struggled to beat TJ....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
What’s the story with Froome’s skinsuit?
Anything can still happen. Third-week mountains are not first-week skirmishes. Froome is obviously super-strong but he hasn’t won this Tour yet.
Yello jersey has to wear the official ASO TDF kit, instead of his own kit. Usually the skinsuits they provide are utter rubbish, flapping all over the place.
This year they measured him up yesterday and spent the night sewing two of them. Looks like they did a decent job.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -

Looking forward to this. I hope sky lose time to Movistar and Tinkoff.

I think their performance in this first week speaks for the teams quality don't you. "Super rested body"? Lol he's no more rested than Nibali or Quintana and it just happens that the one rider you're gunning for 'might' be heavy legged from the giro.0 -

i'm sure in a week or so we'll be hearing that sky have by far the best team cos of their budget so no one stood a chance."Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0 -
