It's all about the money for the Brits. Europeans are fueled by passion.

Nice crowds today. Well done Neds.Contador is the Greatest0

Good one Blazing. G put in a big ride and am surprised that Konig came in firing. Quintana got lucky by going early.
Nice numbers. Froome has come into this race rested as the pea princess. He has zero excuse for not firing on 100% cyclinders all race. Contador has almost 2x the amount of km and race days. Contador will only get better also. Even Quintana (who people think has been incognito despite winning the tough T-A stage race) has more race days and km then Mr Chris 'I don't have to race much' Froome.
Froome has raced less days, but won more races - He won as many road races and NQ and AC combined. And lets not forget, Contador disappeared for a very long time before turning up for the Giro.

No change for Alberto's GT cojones. Still uncomfortable in his skinsuit.
Looked like a big change to me, normally he's sliding backwards and forwards, today he was just rocking side to side. Can't work out how someone who looks so good on a normal bike can look so awkward on a TT bike...0 -

As you well know Contador is not a sprinter and is kinder, so he doesn't win as much.
But in anycase.
Froome's km efficiency is 17.5 whereas Contador's is 20.5
Froome's race days efficiency is 26.5 whereas Contador's is 33.5
The old pretender still needs to win his second GT. Maybe it would be a good idea if he went to the Vuelta to try and notch one given Contador isn't racing.

2011 and 2012? Still manage to rack a GT win for both of those years. More than Froome has achieved in his 8 year career. How does he do it, the guy is just amazing.Contador is the Greatest0 -

A GT win per year, despite not officially competing? Now that's amazing...0 -
Dennis really low in comparison:

What is going on with Fab's forearm angle? Haven't noticed it until seeing this shot, but not heard of hands lower than elbows being quicker?? Was it just odd timing for the photo?0
-
Over 30 secs down for Dowsett. Bad unless we blame the heat.
Dennis is a much better time trialist than Dowsett.0 -
TJvG = ominous IMO
And with Dennis in yellow, BMC already have a result so the pressure is lower for him now.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

Different riders, different specialities, even in a discipline such as time trial...
Alex Dowsett (GBr) 52.937km Manchester, 2/5/2015
Rohan Dennis (Aus) 52.491km Switzerland, 8/2/20150 -

You know the Alberto, while being a nice guy and everything, is duller than dishwater, right?

“My legs felt OK, but my pulse rate was very, very high. My intention was to take it fairly steady on the first half and then press harder on the second part, but I couldn’t do that to the extent I wanted,” he said. “In the end, it was a pretty ordinary time trial, but the rest of the favourites are all within a few seconds of each other, and now we can start thinking about what lies ahead tomorrow.”

He's breeding canaries again?0 -
Do we really have to start with the 'my man is better than your man' bulls**t after one stage? It would be nice to enjoy discussing the racing for 3 weeks not raking up the past or making pointless comparisons. We've still got the joys of the 3 week nutters coming to the forum and making it a chore wading through the spoiler threads without the regulars doing it.0

Calm down Pross, there were just a few posts with facts in about the relative two, it's not a slanging match.

Be visible, always! To promote safety on the bike we will ride tomorrow's ITT with this Bontrager Flare R taillight.

Looks like Froome had the measure of them today:

Must say, whole TT felt really tough on the riders.
Seems it was exceptionally fast and so many riders looked unusually uncomfortable from my vantage point.
Odd day, but then I guess it was always going to be.0 -

Always does to be honest. Blows me away how fast they ride every time.0
