Ok, too much action, too early... I hadn't even had a chance to think about my PTP pick (surely a 12 o'clock cut off for this is a bit late...)0
-
Tony Martin gets bored, goes on an attack and remains out front.
After going on the attack earlier on, Alaphilippe has been dropped by the peloton, along with Joaquim Rodríguez.0 -

Can't keep making exceptions, even in the face of logic.
How many minutes was it? How many years ago?0 -
Something exciting occurs:
Martin may have some company soon as six rider, including Nibali, Valverde and Talansky, try to get across to him.0 -
Where are you watching this?
Ceefax
Simon Yates first at col de la Croix Haute
Result of cat. 2 KOM at km 67.5:
1. Simon Yates (Orica), 5 points
2. Vincenzo Nibali (Astana), 3
3. Dan Martin (Cannondale), 2
4. John Gadret (Movistar), 1
Now solo fugitive Nibali has 25s on peloton....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
Apparently Nibs descends like a demon etc. etc.0

And Froome can't', right? ..0 -
Nibali with Tony Gallopin, Alejandro Valverde, Tony Martin and Rui Costa - that's some breakaway!0

That's the narrative...
Though I did see something about Froome calling yesterday a sketchy descent...0 -
Nibali has some company with Tony Gallopin, Alejandro Valverde, Tony Martin and Rui Costa all bridging over.
There is a pic of Froomey on the grass on ydays descent.0 -
Latest suggests that the peloton has been decimated and that the chase is down to (mostly) the team leaders.0

Correct!
Behind the leaders, the peloton has been cut down to an elite few riders. The race leader van Garderen is in the group along with Froome and defending champion Talansky.
This is how it looks in the second group on the road: Andrew Talansky and Daniel Martin (Cannondale-Garmin),Chris Froome (Sky), Wilco Kelderman (LottoNL-Jumbo), Romain Bardet (AG2R), Simon Yates (Orica-GreenEdge), Jose Herrada and Benat Intxausti (Movistar), Tejay Van Garderen (BMC), Robert Kiserlovski (Trek Factory Racing) and Jose Serpa (Lampre-Merida)
Highlights will be awesome.
Big (little) Tone attacks again. He has an 18-second lead over the Nibali group.0 -

That's like Team World breakaway0 -
I hope you're right. I'm not sure where they are on the road tbh. This could all be before the cameras are in place since the live coverage won't be starting for a while.0
-
Bardet's been talking himself up - given him a right boost - I don't think he thought he would get that stage - first major win0
-
Gaps going out on the long descent of the Col de Grimone and next up is the first category ascent of the Col du Rousset.
My guess is the leaders are at around the 1/2 way point i.e. around 90km to go.0 -
Good news for the yellow jersey group - they have been joined by others and it has grown to around 50 riders.
Bad news for the yellow jersey group - Nibs group have caught Tony Martin and they have a lead of around 3 mins as they get to that cat1 climb.0 -

Rules are rules.
Alaphilippe has just quit. Good thing I can go and change my PTP pick now...0 -
Dowsett out.
Martin re-caught.
3mins to peleton0 -
Is it true that Nibali & Valverde are 3 mins up the road in a break?0
-
Yes.
Valverde, Nibali, Rui Costa, Tony Gallopin, Tony Martin.0 -
For those that want to follow live updates (I think someone asked earlier in this thread... apart for ceefax, you can see everything here
http://www.letour.com/criterium-du-dauphine/2015/us/live/aso/
I don't understand how SKY have let such a strong group of GC contenders get 3 mins away in the first place... :?: :?: :?:
Also baffles me that we won't even get to see any live coverage for another 45 mins still when all the main climbing and descending has been done...
I know a lot don't (or can't) watch the full coverage of bike racing, but I don't get why, on stages like this and tomorrow, there is not better coverage...
Personally I love watching the full stages...0 -
Valverde is virtual Yellow Jersey wearer with Nibs 5 secs behind...0
-
Did Froome and Van Garderen just allow them to ride away? Was there a crash? What the freak happened and why are there no pictures anywhere?!!0 -
This is just crazy0
-
Nibali has attacked and taken Valverde and Costa with him. Martin and Gallopin have been dropped. There's 10 seconds between the two groups.0
