    -Sagan.
So when Sagan praises Contador, it's "Boss". But when Wiggins is lauded by Porte he's still work shy (see Paris-Nice thread). Extreme double standards even by your high bar.
Indeed, where was Contador at the finish? Did he lead Sagan out? Lightweight.

Of course it is. Contador was instrumental in creating the split which distanced the sprinters which improved Sagan's chances of winning. Bit different to riding on the front like some Knees or Eisel.

It's not just Paris Nice with Wiggins. It is multiple times. It is also why riders mention it specifically when he does some work.

The positive comments about Contador from his teammates current and past is overwhelming. It is one of the many reasons he is my ultimate favourite.

Is it just me, or does Contador seem to have double bar tape? Looks very thick compared to Sagan's.

looks that way. IIRC Sagan unwrapped some of his bar tape in P-R a couple of years ago

Token work. Nothing that actually is particularly useful or demonstrative of his 'amazing talents'.

Sitting in second place overall, Bauke Mollema's hopes of retaining his high GC position at Tirreno-Adratico almost disappeared when the Dutchman punctured on the sixth stage just as Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo) upped to pace to force a selection. Teammate Fabian Cancellara bridged the gap to the front group, offering his front wheel to save Mollema from any significant time losses.

"I was in the second group and Bauke was alone up front but at least we had Stijn as a safety net in the front, and then suddenly Bauke punctures! No car there, nobody, so I gave up my wheel," Cancellara said. "Then the neutral service came, so I got a wheel at the same time I was changing his wheel."

There were no time losses for Mollema after the Trek team worked to bring him back to the front group, and he finished on the same time as all his major rivals ahead of the the final 10km time trial.

"I had a flat tire in a bad moment when Tinkoff-Saxo was going full gas on the climb," Mollema said. "Thankfully, Fabian was there and he did a great TT to come back for maybe 20km. Popovych came to help, Stijn, Julián …and we had to catch back around a minute. We spent a lot of energy there but the guys did such a great job!”

On the video below, see how at around 10mins Contador is riding fine. At 10.24ish you can see him pull out of the line and fall back whether to look for Quintana et al or because he is hurting.

Then at 10.59 watch how just before his attack, Quintana moves to the other side of the road, look back to the pack to see where Contador is, see he is far back, then hit the gas.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADCWn1ldORg

Quite unreal how Contador then stretches his legs, makes up the 100m gap eventually. Then within 3m or so he steps off the gas and no one sees Quintana again.

Any reason gaps were so big today - I thought Nairo has done OK on TT previously - or were these hilly?

You're funny, Sky neither held him back or advanced him. He' didn't light the world up at BMC either.

He showed it at Sky too. He had a very useful 2011 season.
