Cancellara 6.05, 2nd by less than a second. Shame.

GvA only a second behind Cancellara.

It'd be a real shame if that court case ruins his season too.

Decent from Malori. I like him.

Are we expecting Nibali to go for the win or is he saving everything for July like last year?

wouldn't be surprised to see him winning every stage if the trajectory of his career has continues at the same angle as it has since he joined the dirtiest team in the sport.

Ugly wasn't it. Looked slow and uncomfortable. Decent time for all the time he spent bobbing in the wind.

There is nothing to figure out. Its 5km. Some days you have good legs sometimes not so good.

As "bad days" go, I'm sure he'll take that. If he was messing up his line through the corners - that's 8 secs right there on a course like that. This also suggests that his power on the flat was at least equal to his GC rivals.

It would've been great to see "The Big Four" go head to head - but in some ways it could be good that Froome's not here as an added distraction. We get to concentrate on where Quintana is at compared to the other GT winners of last year. And although Contador is clearly in pretty good shape at the moment, how far off his best is he? I don't think I've ever seen Nibali beat an in form Bert...

It is a sprint day today, it should be perfect for Mark Cavendish but the Manxman says that he's not up for it today. He tells RAI Sport that he is lacking the explosivity in the sprint. Is that a bit of sandbagging from Cavendish?

Given his somewhat graphic tweets about his guts this week I suspect that it's not
