Also known as Ruta del Sol, prepare for fireworks as some of the best in the business tackle 5 days, a split stage with an 8km TT and a flat stage, two more flat stages and two mountain stages.

Preview:

Starts tomorrow.

Whereas before Contador would have been all over this I don't think he will go al out to win. If it comes naturally then fine if not then he wont be bothered. He is the only rider attempting a super challenge this year so needs to concentrate totally on the Giro and Tour. He is also a touch overweight and coming off three hard weeks of climbing in Tiede.

Froome on the other hand I think will go all out for the win. With his new fat man Roche to help.

Serious question. Are you an astronaut on ISS, what with your taunting of those with lesser satellite coverage? How do you do it?

  • Certainly looking forward to seeing how Basso will ride. Not very often you get a GT champ of old like Basso willing to ride his heart out for another rider.

    From Sky Sports Cycling twitter:

Pim Ligthart won stage 1a of the Ruta del Sol in Spain. Chris Froome avoided a late crash to finish in the front group in 14th

Blazing Saddles was known a decade ago to have information about cycle racing coverage in the days of the Eurosport Forum.
He has always been the guy to ask up in the Black Mountains with his Motorised Dish.
He can save you a lot of time looking.

  • And I've been looking. Doesn't look to be any other options.
I'm aware a lot of folks rely on net access, so I try to accommodate whenever possible.
So, should be live feeds here in about 15 minutes.

    https://www.procyclinglive.com/livestream/

They are currently offering a French feed for the missed stages, not that I said that I had French Eurosport.

Anyhow, in other news, the "classics" (I'm using the term loosely, Rick) season really kicks off tomorrow, with the Trofeo Laigueglia. Coverage is on Rai sports 1, rather than the usual 2. There is currently a 100 minute slot penciled in for 13-40GMT, which suggests live for the first time, but I'll believe it when I see it.

The only Algarve option is 10 minutes on RTP 2 at 22-45GMT.
And before Maca moans again, I haven't got RTP 2.

    Eurosport have started early.

Kiriyenka caused the mass pile up that ended in a lot of riders getting various injuries.

Alberto 8seconds quicker than froome. He looked like he was going flat out. Sprinting between corners whilst froome looked quite calm. Bert really wants to win this.
  • Coppel 9.54.

I assume you mean the Katusha rider as I did but this is one Moreno of Movistar.

I assume you're being too naive, FF. I read Joelsim's posts with the following filter: "they're all doing drugs!!!!!".

    Now read his post again.
  • No I read it the same as you: he must be on drugs to do a TT like that as the Katusha Moreno is not known for this TT.
