It appears another 'exclusive' club has opened for business. Quite like the idea, but one night near Chatsworth and two 50 mile rides for £450, or two nights in Italy for £1250 (flights not included) -

Edit: it would help if i put a link in  http://www.montem.cc/
Looks like a high quality cycle tour travel company that is trying to circumvent regulations that apply to travel companies.
I am just being cynical there. They may have all the necessary stuff in place but the whole 'club' thing is nonsense. They're organised and paid for bike tours. The 'club' description could just be marketing spin, but I would dig further before I parted with any hard earned.

Good luck to both Rapha and Montem I say, well done and great marketing.

They are up with Apple in that respect.

Yeah, because copying the #2 World's most profitable company is such a bad business plan.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I never mentioned anything about legality, accountability or ethics. Just what is reported.
There are those who would question Apple's accounts and ethics.

Nothing to do with ethics.

    Laughably bad.

Must be keeping all the talent at home in China because it's embarassingly weak in London and NYC.

    Reported:-
. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited
    > Net income from cont. operations: $42.7 billion
    > Country: China
    > Industry: Diversified banks
    > Revenue: $89.4 billion

I don't do the reports though.

This thread is going somewhat off topic.
I don't like Apple but if I part with my hard earned, I know I will get a good product in return. Likewise with Rapha. My personal opinion is that the premium paid for their prestige is not worth it but many others disagree.
With Montem, I know nothing of them and view their 'club' proposition very warily. They are offering bike tours under the guise of a club. Is it just marketing, or are they acting unethically to avoid travel industry regulations.
  • The irony of China being mentioned in a Rapha thread...
