Questioned during the race by France Televisions, AG2R-La Mondiale's DS Julien Jurdie said: “Everything's going well for our team at the Tour so far. We're confident. We dare to attack. The team spirit is remarkable. Today it's the turn of Christophe Riblon to being at the front. He remains an unpredictable rider. Yesterday, he was struggling in the grupetto and today he is part of a strong breakaway. There are very good riders up there: Majka, Roche, Rodriguez… Christophe can be useful to our leaders if they come across or for the teams' classification if he stays at the front.”

Gap was 5mins at top of climb and now it is 2.5 mins. That does doesn't make much sense.
