J Rod blew in the end, but a great ride by him today.

    What a display.

Eh?! They managed to claw all of it back and lost only 10-30 secs.

Brave from JRod but he gets the polka. Proper rider to have the dots.

Thought I was in for inspired PTP points there.
  • G @1'21'' by my reckoning.

Nibs just had an extra gear or two

You need to put a couple mins in not 12secs before you can accuse someone of being on the gear.

It looked very smooth and fast but the time gaps are not much.

Well, he's been out winning the climbs today. Nibs has been sat in whilst Astana sacrificed themselves.

I disagree. Brought back all sorts of unpleasant memories of Richard Virenque. Purito should be better than that - hope he's back to his best for the Vuelta.

Good effort by Gallopin. Good to see him reach as deep as he could.

    100% agree.

Same tactic Froome would have employed, just a bit less elbowy.

I suppose without rides like Contador and Froome there on a climb like this it's hard to say how impressive Nibali's final acceleration was. If he rode away from them at the same rate he rode away from the rest, then it might be more suspicious?

He's miles down on GC, once he'd been passed by Nibali, why kill himself to save time? He's saving the energy to have another go at KoM points.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

I really hope I can muster some enthusiasm now the Great One is no longer racing. It was a poorer race for Froome's crash and now it is a significantly poorer race again for Contador's.

Totally disagree. Everyone has 1st place to race for, not just podium step.
