Interesting piece PS. Is this from your book? And what country is it a description of?

Thanks. Yes, it's from the book which, at this rate, will be out some time in the next decade....

The mall is in Kuala Lumpur, but could be anywhere Asian, really.

Looking at it again, it needs a lot of work......

A few people were moaning about this stage earlier, I expect a bunch of those wouldn't have done so if they'd known they'd be watching Martin do this.

It's true that this solo performance has made the stage more interesting but it's still going to be dull from a racing perspective.

    Cheng 15 minutes back.

Yes, yes but there's a Cheng Ji feature coming up with John in the Paris dungeon. Hopefully he won't subject Cheng to any of his poetry.

Yeah it is impressive but Tony Martin knows how to climb and this particular cat 1 is only 5%.

Yeah I agree it can be cut down a bit to be more direct but the sentiment and idea is good. The jump from mall to bike shop was quite stark and worked well given it was not what the reader would necessarily expect. Your love for cycling is clear there : )

Carlton said there would be a Cheng Ji feature coming up with John.

Not to everyone's taste, I know.

Yeah, granted it was exactly the kind of climb Tony Martin would prefer. But he still shouldn't be taking time out of climbers on a 10km mountain.

Well what do you guys think now about Tony Martin's chances of taking the win?

As I mentioned, looks like he will have no problems.

This John bloke makes Carlton sound amazing in comparison. Awful.

He should take it as long as he doesn't crash. No-one behind him is strong enough to catch him realistically.

Or trying to get out ahead before the descent?

I think the only thing that can stop him is if there are some significant head/crosswinds in the final 20km. If there is that plays into the hands of a group.

I'm surprised that some of the teams are happy to give Rolland 5 minutes. He's a threat to the 5th -10th places.

This will be Tony Martin's 60th professional win. I'd like to know how much he is paid...I reckon he is under-paid.

He has sat up now. Maybe it was to help him conquer his fears.
