[quote="coriordan"Is Liquigas-cannondale even a team going forward?[/quote]
Well, it hasn't been Liquigas all this year. But Cannondale isn't a team next year.0 -
Cipo Nuke TT bike is coming out at Eurobike. There will be one of those short movies again.

All the Cervelo bikes are basically unchanged for 2015. Just new paint jobs and spec for complete bikes. Their level of innovation has really dropped since Phil White and Gerald Vroomen sold the company.0

The traditional geometry looks good, I wonder what weight it comes in at?

Pross wrote:I'd love to try one of those wooden bikes just to see how they feel. What does he use for the braking surface on the rims though?
Back when all rims were wood with wood braking surfaces, brake pads were made of cork. On a long descent they'd scorch black.
No idea how they performed in the wet, but could it have been any worse than leather/rubber blocks on chromed steel rims?I have a policy of only posting comment on the internet under my real name. This is to moderate my natural instinct to flame your fatuous, ill-informed, irrational, credulous, bigoted, semi-literate opinions to carbon, you knuckle-dragging f***wits.0 -

Ooh, this is interesting. As I can't get an R3 Mud, this will do nicely as a Roubaix bike!0 -

The R2, P2, S2 and S3 are all either brand new or were released part way through last years run. I think 4 new models is pretty good going for innovation! There would be no point ending production of the new P2/S2/S3 so soon just for the sake of improving the design.
Yes - they are basically last year's models. And while some of them feature trickle-down technology from higher-up models, Cervelo as a brand has not introduced much in the way of innovation for several years now. Just tweaks on existing models. Again- this goes back to the founders not spending the time pushing the envelope with them any more.0 -
I agree with Pokerface. They used to be pretty unique and now they look proper ugly and are not exciting.Contador is the Greatest0

That looks great and a friend has one in the old white/green/blue works colours, it goes pretty damned well.
So both... Another friend has the canyon and that goes pretty well as well.0 -

You can see over an hour and a half of video of them if you watch The Amazing Spider-Man.0 -

Got to admit I wasn't thinking in those terms. I guess at 65 understanding good and bad fashion is just not all that possible anymore.
I have to rely on my wife to recommend glasses frames for me so I don't look too much like a dork(at least in her opinion).0 -
"Bontrager's Classique shoe (£199.99) is the latest top-end shoe to use a full lace closure. The styling is pretty classic: it's only available in black, although you get a choice of red, white, black or blue laces. The construction is bang up-to-date, with a carbon sole and a microfibre upper. The heel cup is lined with a cat-tongue material that allows your foot to slide in easily, but grabs it if it tries to slide out."
"The XXX Road (£259.99) is Bontrager's first Boa-closure shoe and it's the current team-issue shoe for Trek. The two Boa dials are independent for a better range of adjustment. Bontrager have worked with Boa to supply dials that are shoe-specific, so you turn the dial forward to close on both shoes. It has a Clarino microfibre upper that's meant to replicate kangaroo skin, but without the give that you get with natural leather. It also features Bontrager's lightest carbon sole and an anti-slip heel lining."
The new XXX LE Road is Bontrager's lightest ever shoe. It does away with the Boa closure in favour of Velcro straps, and the microfibre is replaced with a full mesh upper. The outside of the shoe is fluoro yellow and the inside face, though it looks black, is fully reflective for an extra shot at being seen after dark. The XXX LE shoes cost £229.99 a pair.0 -
madasahattersley wrote:I don't really see how they could have innovated much more in the space of 3 years!
I have to say I am with madasahattersley on this one. Cervelo have been known to keep frames pretty much the same for years, R3, S1, S2, P2, P3 etc, but now they seem to have had their skates on again. Ok, so this year doesn't see so much changing, but they don't need to come out with complete new model revisions every year, if a bike was developed properly it should be able to sit in the market well for a few years anyway.0 -

There's has been a lot of shuffling around of technology in their bikes. I just feel there has been a lack of the innovation in recent years. Not saying they aren't good bikes, just that not a LOT has changed. It's more a matter of some frames have benefitted from newer technology but not a whole lot new has been introduced. (Like the P3 is just a cheaper version of the P5. The R5 almost the same as the old R5 - but with new tube shaping from the Rca, etc).
Don't want to clog the thread up any more - as you made good points in your last post.0 -

Lugged steel bikes go way, way, way, back and they still sell well and seem to "...sit in the market..." very well. All that AND a design that hasn't changed much, if at all.0 -

Yes, but you know that is a different point to that of the ongoing development and marketing of carbon monocoque bikes Dennis.0
