OK I'm confused, is your Father Jake the Peg?

    Is he a centaur?

Well my parents possess two legs each making for a total of four knees. My dad is just profligate with knee replacements as he managed to wear out one already. Hence 5 replacements. Two have been done under local anaesthetic too which makes my dad a double hard b**tard and easily harder than your dad or something...

I just got my first look at the wound post op, i can tell you now that surgeon didnt win any needlework awards, i think he follows the frankenstein school.

only 6 giant stitches on the outside and a few inside as well, where they opened it up they've doubled the size of the cut then pulled it all back together like an old blanket. The doc did say I can and should start bending my knee as pain permits, i took that as meaning "light" turbo work.

if anyone else finds themselves in the same situation i can confirm that well placed KT Pro tape around the knee & thigh works wonders, as do strong painkillers

Yeah - no-one will expect you to be quick

And, if Rapha's top man in the TdF is anything to go by, people will expect you to be injured and fall off a lot...

i've ridden 6 x 2.5 mile London commutes this week, tomorrow is the first day back on the normal 2 x 16 miles but via the flatter route i think, subject to that being okay Thur-Fri then Sat is a hard hilly 50 warm up before the 125 Magnificat on Sunday, I have high hope and good meds
