Which is fine except you admitted you were going very slowly at the time. This simply makes you a clumsy sod.

Have you considered a safer past-time? Fire juggling perhaps?

And for chuff's sake, stay on the roads like a gentleman.
Come on, on an MTB if you aint falling off you aint trying, that's why I prefer it to road cycling, not knowing if you'll finish the ride (or in what state).

oh i came off plenty but as i've said mostly because of the muddy ruts left bike illegal motorbiking, i do enjoy the challenge of climbing off road just dont like the state of the trails around here.

It was just a training ride. No racing. Nice and easy all the way from the start arch to the finish line.

I strongly recommend having a razor handy when you do come to change the dressing, so you only have to go through that pain once...

What's the op that you've had?

ISTR that rule of thumb is you have to wait 24h for the pain to properly get up to tempo. Then it will come down over the next few days. Sometimes a nice surgeon will put a slow dissolving local anaesthetic tab in the wound before closing it. Hopefully you got someone old skool though.

When I had my wisdom teeth out it took two days for the swelling/pain to peak, then slowly went down over the course of the next few days. So expect things to get worse over 24-48 hours before they get better I'm afraid.

So ITboffin's managed to spread his injury woes over three different threads in one forum - the "Man Down..." thread, the "How do I do that?" thread, and the "fettling" thread. Fishing for sympathy much? :D
