Formolo has got to be a shoe-in for Cannondale's TdF team.
    Unlikely. He's a 21 year old neo-pro.

I know, but his results this year have been excellent. He has the potential to win a stage plus a bit of experience. Looks like he could become a very good stage racer as time progresses.
Some teams would do it, but Cannondale tend to take their time a bit more (Sagan didn't ride in until his third season). Although having said that, Cannondale might not have much time left.

Oh yes so pleased when a top GC rider has the bands. Hopef5 he has a full kit to hide that awful Astana blue. Will catch the race later.

They don't have a great squad to choose from.

Sagan obv, De Marchi for the mountains jersey, Caruso... Sagan does his own sprints with no train, Viviani has already raced the Giro. What harm could it do. Give Formolo a taste, don't put any pressure on him, maybe take him out near the end if he is suffering. I would.

Hopefully he'll go with old school black shorts to completely negate the Astana blue!

Talk about DOMINANT! Svein Tuft spends more than 100km off the front at #GRCanRoadChamps to do the double. Congrats to the road + ITT champ!

All setting up nicely for Greipel. Bad luck for Giant that Kittel cramped up so badly when Degenkolb attacked; they probably lost both their cards at once.

And Greipel takes it. Degenkolb went for a very long one.

Seems like there's a big group of riders away in Ireland - with none of the 'big' names

The 10 leaders now have 2:25 with some regrouping having occurred behind and five laps of 9 completed now.

    Sticky Bottle ‏@sticky_bottle · 1m
Dan Martin now on front of second group on the road; the gap to leaders, at 2:25, can be pegged back; but will ALL of them be caught????

    Sticky Bottle ‏@sticky_bottle · 32s
Damien Shaw and Dan Martin trying to get across to the breakaway.

Dekenkolb doesn't deserve to be champion with that silly moustache.
