What a shame. Got within 20m then bang it opens up to 100m.

    Dig deep Simon.

Seriously, take a look. Pre-decided race. Total shi t. They should ride as individuals not teams.

Four Sky riders still cant dispatch Simon yet.

You're new to this bike racing lark, aren't you?

Yet in the other thread he was praising Valverde for letting Izagirre win, and lamenting the fact that OPQS missed out despite riding so well as a team.

Yeah but that's Movistar and OPQS... Go figure as they say.

Turtle needs to read properly as I said the exact opposite. I was annoyed Valverde gifted it and glad OPQS didnt win.

Thats different because Valverde is one of his boys and he was just being a Gent!

You think the Yates bros are disappointed: I swapped Kennaugh for G on the PTP!...

Looks like Kennaugh and Swift are clear. Kennaugh to go large on the final couple of hills, Swift to pip him in the sprint after hanging on?

I thought Kennaugh was injured, but obviously not.

Imagine if instead of Swift & Kennaugh we had the the same two that were in the breakaway last time they were in Abergavenny.

Froome obviously stole his 'look' from Wiggins - maybe that's the real cause of the falling out?

Tuned in for the sprint. NEVER heard a UK commentator get so passionately involved. Total Ken-YACK fan boi. Wonder why they cant always be like that. Shame Ben Swift didn't win but at least PK will show the bands off when he is not ill.

Hell of a ride from Simon Yates. Especially so soon after breaking his collarbone.

Swift didn't seem to push all the way to the line but maybe he had nothing left and knew once PK got his wheel in front the game was up. Either way, deserved win for one of Sky's better riders.

Probably the first and last time a mountain domestique will beat the team's sprinter. In a sprint.

When I watched it again it didn't look quite so bad so I edited my post. Still an interesting finish.

Two up sprints at the end of a long day are a little different than a bunch sprint. Plus Kennaugh has some pace. You have to be in a top team pursuit squad these days (the Aussies dumped Durbridge because he could accelerate fast enough)

Haha good stuff. That piece is one of my favourites. Tbh I hardly listen to UK commentary if I can help it - little emotion, British and Sky bias, mistakes a plenty, can't read a race and cater for an uneducated in cycling audience.

10th for James McLaughlin after 5th in TT, not bad for an amateur
