Westra takes the long route round from too far out, nearly clips a corner and then Jan nearly crashes into the barriers. Messy.Contador is the Greatest0

I haven't been following pro cycling so forgive me if this is a daft question but is the dauphine always such a feast for breakaways?
Been a great race thus far although today's stage has highlighted why it's so risky to place so many eggs in one man TDF basket for Sky's season.0 -
Wasn't Bakelandts virtual yellow at some point - now the peloton has slowed he should have it?0

Oh well. Nothing in GC group despite that nice little bump. Sky on the front drilling it for all they are worth to discourage attacks.Contador is the Greatest0

He was at 6.03 back this morning. Think the max gap was about 5mins.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Closest he got was about 1 minute off which would have been around virtual 7th.
All the cat and mouse in the last KMs cost them about a minute off their advantage.0 -
Jan B in the breakaway three times and finally gets his win.

Great win from Bakelants, especially after almost getting put into the barriers!

What's wrong with Bakelandts, FF? Surely he's an exciting attacking rider, with at least a modicum of panache. Not quite a true certified heavyweight, granted, but surely the kind of rider we all enjoy watching...?Giant Trance X 2010

Put into barriers suggests Westra moved him. The opposite is true.the article don wrote:What's wrong with Bakelandts, FF? Surely he's an exciting attacking rider, with at least a modicum of panache. Nothing wrong with him and I agree regarding his attitude. I just wanted Westra to win in this instance.Contador is the Greatest0 -

No it's not, Westra clearly moves over on Bakelandts and pushes him towards the barrier, not quite into it but pretty close.0 -

Re-watched it. Yeah you are right. Doesn't look deliberate but was the cause. He definitely moved out to let him through after.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Coming into form nicely. Once Jan and I sync our PTP selections we'll be a formidable force in the Tour.Lady drops 'E' and lake drains north into clubs revealing euphoric victor (3, 9)...a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

Doubt even Froome's catching that ...a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
So, Froome comes a cropper on the run in to home.
Looks fairly banged up, so could struggle tomorrow when El Pistolero turns over his big gear in earnest.
Nice, polite thanks to Bertie for not pulling a Movistar.
Westra unlucky to finish second, but it was either that, or put Bakelants into the crowd.
