Pauwels the only OPQS I can see with Uran.

There was a shot earlier of Brambilla off the back. Presumably De Gendt and Poels are knackered after being so active in the first week.

With this confusion evident on the road will they just neutralise the stage?

    I'd be astounded. I hope they don't.
It might need some sorting out afterwards as things stand but I can't see how they could neutralise the whole stage without making even more of a mess out of this day.

I feel bad for Uran, don't know why, I picked Quintana for the stage and for the overall for my PTP this is good. Sentimental old fool me.

Sporza contacted the Lotto team car. Race was never neutralised, it was just communicated that the descent was dangerous and riders should be careful.

News crackles through on race radio and racing might be neutralized on the descent.
According to race radio riders will stay on their bikes but will be lead down the descent. Roche sets the pace but up ahead Cataldo has attacked from the break and now the snow begins to fall.

The gap between the Quintana/Rolland group and the main bunch is shrinking, but fairly slowly. Not much more than 1.5 minutes now I think.

It doesn't seem to have had much of an impact on the time difference though.

    No

And he's not wearing gloves either, seemed to give them to neutral service a few km back. Hope the weather doesn't turn for the worse. Then again he'll be climbing again soon. Only got 60 secs though

Didn't the Iseran cheat by building an extra road? I may have dreamed that though.

Isn't that the Bonette, they built a little loop around the top to get it to be the highest road in the Alps, IIRC.

    FUN FACTS CONTD...

The highest road in Europe is the 2830 m Ötztal Glacier Road in Autria, it is a dead end. The Cime de la Bonette at 2802 m is a loop road and not the highest anyway.

The Pico de Valeta in the Sierra Nevada is a paved road at almost 3400m, so it's quite a bit higher than the Ötztal Glacier Road.
