Will be interesting to see how Taaramae goes in a bigger team. If Astana have more sophisticated or better structured training methods that can tap into his potential then Nibali has a formidable domestique to add to his armoury.
Berhane will be one to watch too! Turning 24 this year (as am I!) so should start to kick on. All the signs have been there in the past couple of seasons.0 -

Doesn't he have some illness which limits his stage race capability in week 3?0 -
He had issues with his throat but that has been operated on and is the reason he was so much better in 2014.Contador is the Greatest0

He won a mountain top finish in the Vuelta at stage 14 and finished 11th in the Tour which suggests he should be fine with GT's. Surely a good candidate for a strong mountain domestique. His compatriot Kangert is there too which may be helpful.
He strikes me as the kind of rider that just needs strong direction and structure but rather he was probably just left to get on with it at Cofidis.0 -

That information has been out there for weeks - CW first reported it in December.0 -

That's good news for both parties. I'm glad he's got a ride at the top level (or thereabouts) again, he's a loyal and hard working rider.0

Nuyens' comments not in the original article:
„I don't like to throw mud at anyone, but what I experienced during my last two seasons was enough,” Nuyens told De Standaard.
„When my heart problems were confirmed last year, I found out that had already noticed some irregularities in my heartbeat in the US, but blamed the equipment for it. In a period when I was undergoing my heart surgery, no one from the team was interested in learning about my condition. The first phone call I received was to ask me if I could arrange myself tickets to Tomorrowland. Garmin has slapped me in my face.”
„I didn't want to say goodbye this way,” Nuyens admitted. „In Plouay, Bradley Wiggins approached me and asked if I wanted to play a role of road captain for Team Sky in Flemish classics. The whole team was excited about that idea and even asked for my biological passport. In terms of salary I didn't mention any figures, so much I wanted it to happen.”
„It didn't work out because of a lack of clarity in regards to Wiggins' future, as well as it didn't with Neri Sottoli – the last team which was interested. Eventually I was left with nothing and had to say goodbye in a disappointing way,” the 34-year old Belgian concluded.
Another rider talking bad about Garmin which is not a surprise. Really losing any sort of liking for that team.Contador is the Greatest0 -

@Vaughters
This is how riders feel about getting cut loose in a merger when they aren't whiney little babies crying to the media
Vaughters is a proper loser.
What is odd is that it shows 'Today' as his response and then '31st Dec' from JVS (tweet as posted on 15 Jan and I can't imagine he took a screenshot when he replied on 1st of something)...so does that mean Vaughters only replied 2 weeks later after seeing Nuyens' comments so he could post a stupid remark.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Has to be worth a punt - they've not got a sprinter now have they?? but do have some strong windblocking riders eg Gaudin Van Summeren Gretsch etc0 -
RE: JV
You do start to get the feeling his keenness to use social media for getting a message out there has the potential to back fire and bit him in the backside at some point.
His output has gone from being informative to amusing and is now shifting again.0 -
Got a feeling the sprints are going to hot up a bit with Gaviria, Mareckzo, Marini as well as DvP, Bouhanni, Demare and Kittel, plus talent such as Ewan and Manzin. Not to mention the other established sprinters. Could be a bit of a golden age coming up. Kittel alluded to this fact a couple of months ago about youngsters.0

Gaviria:
“We had several contacts and now the choice has been narrowed to two teams, one French and one Belgian, and both from the WorldTour,” Acquadoro told Tuttobiciweb.
“[We need] a few days, a dozen and most, to complete our assessment and then you will know everything.”
The two teams concerned are believed to be Ag2r La Mondiale and Etixx-Quickstep. The latter is an unusual candidate, given that it is the squad of Cavendish, who is hoping to renew is current contract at the end of the year.

Confirming interest in the rider who twice beat Mark Cavendish in the Tour de San Luis last month, Fernando Gaviria, Etixx-QuickStep boss Patrick Lefevere has said that he made a miscalculation in not moving sooner.
“A year ago I got a tip and since then I started to keep an eye on these guys,” said Lefevere told Het Laatste Nieuws, referring to Gaviria and also to Rodrigo Contreras, the climber who won the best young rider in San Luis.
“Their results as young riders are impressive. Therefore it is worth the effort to keep following them. Kwiatkowski and Sagan have proven that top juniors can also be top riders in the pro ranks.”
However, as a result of both riders’ performances last month, the Colombians are on the radar of a lot more teams, complicating things for Etixx-QuickStep.
“It appears that a mistake was made,” he acknowledges. “Those two did so well in San Luis that everyone has now seen that they are top talents. Suddenly, they also each have a manager or five. To sign them is going to cost me a lot more than it would have a month ago.”Contador is the Greatest0 -
“I said: Edvald, you shouldn't sign for Tinkoff. I think it is the wrong choice. If you do, then I'll give you a slap,” Hushovd revealed to TV2 Norway.

Fernando Gaviria will undergo tests at the Bakala Academy next week as Etixx-QuickStep’s Patrick Lefevere steps up his pursuit of the Colombian sprinter.
Gaviria won two stages at the Tour de San Luis last month, beating Mark Cavendish in the process. A number of WorldTour teams immediately enquired about the future of the 20-year-old. Lefevere’s team were installed as the early favourites to sign the rider and the transfer has moved a step closer.
“He’s coming to us after the weekend to do some tests. He’s in Paris to do the track World Championships and then from there he’ll come to Kortrijk. We’ll have a talk, do some tests and then he will return to Colombia,’ Lefevere told Cyclingnews.
“We’ll try to sign him if the tests are good but we’ll of course respect his plans for the Olympics.”
