I have one of these to take a photo of, but I can't find it at the moment. Hence it will be very easy to s=cheat as I've just lifted the image off the web.
I'm not familiar with american coins, so I'll tell you that the object is 38mm across and 10mm deep.

Lets hope he did't swallow it too and get stuck in his throat. My plonker of a Spaniel (RIP) swallowed a 'squeaker' out of a child's toy and barked funny for a week.
