Good win, might not have gone his way if OPQS were chasing for Cav but he'd been dropped.

Did I miss the bunch sprint or didn't the cameras pick it up?

Looked like Sagan, Goss, then someone threw a strop in about 5th.

No they showed Sagan just crossing the line...did nt look like there was anyone else putting up a fight

Canonfail again. Sagan needs a new team.

Not sure why the Yank is trying to get a dig into Cav...

Deserves his celebratory bow after that ... A few more wins and we'll soon forget his annoyingness ...
    What's annoying about him?

It's always worth having a dig at Cav! What did he say?

They all lost it when they failed to do anything at the start of the descent and let him get 20m ahead. By the time they realised they couldn't bring him back immediately, it was too late.

    Good skills!

His attempts at being too cool.

It was the strangest attack I've ever seen. It didn't even seem intentional, he just rolled away from them.

Yeah but when my random twitter sister - who is a huge fan of his - was having some typical teen boy trouble he tweeted her a picture saying what he thought she should do. I have to say as silly as it is that's pretty cool.

Wiggo and Dennis in the 12" group.

As a slight aside, good work by Matt Stephens and Brian Smith today.

To me he just seems like a young guy who enjoys being a bit silly at times. Seems like a good guy. I like him.

Yeah they're getting better as a duo day-by-day.

Yeah, he wasn't even pedalling and the others were spinning out. THEN he puts the hammer down

Just seems to me like a young, outgoing guy who is enjoying himself.

I cracked a (somewhat mean) joke at his expense on Twitter (regarding his questionable fashion sense) and he replied in good humour. Good kid, talented rider. I'd rather see more like him than guys like Contador.

And for his poor taste of getting his d**k out in public

He's basically Nathan Barley on wheels.

And he's massively overhyped and seems to buy into it (just my impression)

And he gives it the big I am about being clean while riding for Jim Ochowicz. (I think he's clean - but don't criticise others for taking caffeine pills when your mentor is the godfather of US doping)

And I sat next to his 'fan club' at the 2008 Olympics - while many of the girls were very hot, it was like the worst US teen drama ever.

He's just someone who rubs me up the wrong way.

Yep, sums it up perfectly ...

Phinney is young, good-looking (and vain by British-slob standards), immensely talented, successful, American, unusually tall, smarter and more articulate than he has any right to be, etc., etc. These things annoy insecure males. Such expressed annoyance says more about the annoyed than Phinney, I think.

Utterly regardless: that was a majestic ride.

You missed 'Ludicrous finish bottle Jesus' and 'Witless corporate shill' from your list.

Not necessarily, some know loads but are dull as ditchwater to listen to. Stephens in particular is engaging to listen to and seems to know Smith well enough that there's a natural banter. They still make some heat of the moment factual errors but anyone would when having to talk for several hours with nothing happening. They are certainly a big improvement on most other options.
