I've been meaning to bring this up for a while, but podium leisure footwear: wtf?

    What do you mean?

Cav decided Renshaw wasn't going fast enough for some reason, got impatient and went from way too far out ... Viviani ignored the false speed from the downhill iand rode the sprint as you would normally and won ...
On Twitter Cav said there was a headwind and he made the mistake of going first - not usually a good idea in a headwind.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

I did wonder about a headwind because Cav seemed to fade awfully fast, even taking into account the road levelling out ... Still, he went around Renshaw rather than waiting for him to peel off and went into the wind too early ...

I know we all tend to over analyse Cav's sprints but that's what happens when you're the benchmark ... Just the same as Fab & Boonen during the cobbled classics ...

Surely Cav's converse are Peta's doing?

The guys at the lbs wear these around the shop as they got them for free ... They look bloody awful ...

But given pro cycling exists to sell stuff I see the point for the big shoe manufacturers, especially given money involved ... Hopefully wee won't get caps shaped like helmets next ...

Doubt it. Cav's always been able to tie his own laces.

After 55 km, a group of five 5-30 mins ahead - Krizek (CAN), Greipel (LTB), Aramendia (CJR), Kurek (CCC) and Kreder (WGG).
Kamyshev (AST), who was originally with the group, somewhere between them and the peloton.

With yous on the commercial opportunity and crucial health and safety considerations. I'm dismayed at the dismal lack of imagination offered by groovy brands. What a waste.

^ Not sure that's a serious suggestion to be honest. I mean, if Quick Step believed in their product they would whack a bit of laminate on every podium and send Cav out in bare feet.

Two UHC took over and basically rode of the front. They hold the Mountain classification with Marc de Maar. He broke off and continued to take the points before sitting up.
