Great joy for MTN Qhubeka fans as Teklehaimanot gets in the break.

What's your connection with MTN Qhubeka? Is it just one of those fan things or is there something else?

I think it's just exquisite taste!

    Just a minor fan.

As we discovered in the off season trivia thread, MTN Qhubeka to the ignorant fan like me, is basically just Ciolek and his band of merry men. That's why I'm intrigued.

15km to go and the gap is just under 1min. Breakaway group now back with the main field.

If only we had a "review your post feature" I could have amended my post.

Nice try by Dowsett but when I checked his palmares on wiki it's no surprise he was caught ... not a lot of wins, sadly ...

Greipel might have lost a few of his train with that crash. Onus on OPQS.

    I'm a fan because:
    - They're promoting and developing African riders. More interesting globalisation of cycling to me than the Tour of Beijing!
    - Reviving careers (to varying degrees) of some lost souls like Ciolek, Augustyn and Gerdermann
    - Encouraging cycle use and providing bicycles to rural communities in Africa through the Qhebeka charity
    - Got nice kit this year...

6km to go and the team sprint trains are trying to get organised. Hope we don't see any spills.

They've got some interesting riders who wouldn't otherwise be on the radar.

Merhawi Kudus (Eri) - 2nd in GC at Langkwai, at 20 years old, for instance.

Matteo Pelucchi takes it for IAM from Greipel and Demare.

Cav Watch - he was jogging around wheels. Had Griepel's wheel, but sacrificed it to follow Petacchi (I think) with Petacchi then blowing up about 5m afterwards. Pelucchi came off Griepel's wheel to win - Cav seemed to set up - certainly didn't sprint for a place.

Closed out with 1km to go after the big move by FDJ (I think). Cav only had Petacchi with him in the end with too much ground to make up.

    Never heard of the winner.

Cavendish is a bit of a disgrace...I wonder what his excuse will be this time.

To be fair, he's sharing his team with Kwiato and Rigo 8) Meanwhile Andre and Marcel have entire teams lavished on them.
