FDJ have finished but no idea of final time, they did a nice slow-mo of them though so that's ok.

TTT's are competitive (and entertaining) now that the 'supercharged' teams (USPS, CSC & ONCE) are no longer playing ...

Excellent discipline this. Superb to watch.

It's another way for route designers to balance the playing field between expensive mountain trains and rouleurs. (That and more 'classics' stages.)

What's Tinkoff having to ease off for Contador in the run in to the finish?
    Looked to be suffering.

Cav loves a TTT win so he does :D

Thought Cav was officially finished? Presumably he has decided to ditch sprinting and become a specialist team time triallist in preparation for the team pursuit in Rio.

Contador has not looked good on a TT bike for a few years now.

He had an injury and has never been the same since.

His position now looks almost painful. He used to be at ease on the TT bike.

Yeah, it's his position on the bike that's changed........

    Glad you agree

Pruitt states that this has been something they have been working on for some time.

“The last year that he was on Astana [2010], my work with Alberto that year was purely to solve some back pain and knee pain issues he had earlier that season,” he said. “That was road only, not TT

Evans and Horner the big losers ...

And Dan Martin, and Pinot, and Moreno, and Ullissi, and Scarpone and many many more. I think Porte may have blown it too.

Blimey, I hadn't realised that the race was all over after just the TTT.
Having said that, this race was made for Kwiatkowski.
Tony the Tank Engine to deliver this bonus, an ideal, short, punchy ITT, one puncheur's ramp.
All he's got to worry about is the Queen stage and falling off.

Exactly. And his form at the moment. Porte is 33 seconds back already. The others much more.

Maybe only Nairo and Bertie left in the hunt.

I know it's early days BS, but it is a short(ish) race ... and both Evans and Horner's ages have cost them their previously decent (for stage racers) TT ... To be chasing around 50 secs at this stage is not helpful with the individual TT to come ...

Crazy to read that today's TTT at Tirreno was the first ever ridden in 20-year career of Alessandro Petacchi, whose @OPQS team won by 11sec

But it could be fun to watch.
We might some crazy early attacks and the whole race being ripped apart ....I hope so.

Yep, let's hope so. Would love to spend the whole week watching this and P-N all day, but unfortunately work gets in the way.

Eh? He's ridden loads of them - including plenty at Tirreno-Adriatico. It may be the first one he's won.

You'd think a journalist as experienced as Neal Rogers would double check before tweeting something as so obviously wrong as that.

A quick check suggests he's been part of a TTT winning team before too, at the Settimana Lombarda in 2009.

Could be worse. You could be trailing T-A coverage on Eurosport with 'Can Bradley Wiggins win'.
