Contador wins from Quintana. Kwiatowski was struggling there.

Heroics from Kwiato. Nonsense from everybody else. 1km sprint at the end won by Contador.

Kwiatowski showed great fight there but Contador and Quintana were riding for the stage win rather than time by the looks of it.

  • Those must be the ugliest sunglasses out there, not helped by a disgusting colour combo. They look crazily dated already.

So looks like they banned me for 24 hours. Not going to comment on it; suffice to say I will be dramatically reducing my contribution to the forum. There were some wonderful photos from yesterday's racing.

    Regarding today's stage:
-I like these long stages as it really whittles people down. At the same time though there legs are cooked so come the final hurdle they cannot really go from that much distance.
-Amazing ride by Kreuziger. He looked like he was suffering at the end but I reckon he could have possibly held on. The entire attack he was in the big ring.
-So pleased not to really see a demolishing train in action.
-Very pleased that Contador won and that he is showing great form and a glimpse of his devastating acceleration.
-However I am very disappointed that he basically did a 200m sprint. Ok so his teammate was ahead so I dont expect him to chase however when Kreuziger slowed down for him, Kreuziger even signaled for Contador to come up to him. I would be super pissed if I was Kreuziger and rightly so.
-Pirazzi always good for an attack.
-Quintana had no excuse for not attacking earlier either.
-Contador and Quintana should be racing for GC and they don't do that by not going balls out. However I guess we will see tomorrow what they have planned.
-Kwiatek was on the limit for the duration so they could have distanced him if they tried. Great riding by him. Uran wasn't there for him. Respect to Poels.
-Horner only 11 secs back. Nice.
-You can only hope that tomorrow's stage which is also a beast will provide fireworks. That Passo Lanciano is a tough cookie so they may light it up, however being another long 200km stage I suspect it will be 5k job or so.

    Contador is the Greatest
  • Good post, cheers FF. Agreed on Kreuz, Contador had that one handed to him, didn't have to chase his mate up the road just sat on and didn't even attack when the opportunity for a 2 up was presented to him. Basically a skinny boys sprint at the end. Tomorrow looks promising.

I reckon the colour is fine but the shape looks a bit cheap imo. He is sponsored by them so I guess he doesnt have much choice!

  • They are like something Tom Cruise would have worn roller blading through a park on his afternoon off in top gun! Still, if they are paying him!

That was an exciting finish! It looks like it's all to play for. It's nice when there is a selection of riders who can win rather than one running away with it

And yes those sunglasses are a bit pap. This is why you would want to be sponsored by Oakley... Quintana has stepped up his optical ganesh though. The ones he wore in the tour last year looked like the sort of safety specs a brickie on site would wear...

A lot of big ring climbing.
I thought the group of 4 together towards the end, Contador,Quintana etc could have attacked but instead they played cat and mouse and Porte got back on,Horner not far behind as well.

    Bit of a anti-climax IMO.

Tomorrow's finish is really steep %30 I reckon Dan Martin may have a go.

    A bit predictable so far.

Did they even mention Horner? Not used to him in that kit yet

So, Contador has caught Valverde's disease.
Sneak a stage win and ignore the GC.
Sad to see a past champion reduced to poaching a palmarès.
Probably realises that he'll be out the back tomorrow
    on Kwiatkowski's ramp.

BS, why do your posts resemble
    some sort of
