I think white rims would be ok, you have enough white on the bike to not make it look out of place.
No idea what the weight limit is to be honest. Yes climbing will be easier if your lighter for sure, loads of people spend a lot of money making a light bike when losing a bit of themselves would make a huge difference.

I've got Flow EX rims on my covert

    Overkill? Possibly
But they're lighter than I was expecting and roll very well (Also running tubeless which helps with weight)

I'm assuming you're a sort of aggressive trail rider I reckon you'd get on well with Arch EX rims.. Maybe even crests of your not chucking yourself off massive drops

Great effort on the weight loss btw!

Thanks mate certainly was not easy but worth it but this last bit seems to be the hardest.

And I think people forget that, apart from the achievement of losing that amount, it's just the sheer difficulty of getting the momentum going when you're starting at 20st that's an achievement in itself. Well done, you're allowed a large slice of chocolate cake as a reward! :)

  • I know you guys love your "on route pics" :)

Took the bike out today for 50km off road run. Lovely living round here you can go from a forest to a beach in not very long at all.

There are very few local trails but there are some natural roots which was an ok ride. I visited Sussed out suspension Suffolk recently and had the bike set up for me and the suspension generally set up for me.

Was really good enjoyed spending some time there learning and asking lots of questions about set up ... and the changes we've made seem to make the bike feel much nicer on the off road ride today. It's softer than I am used to so will be good to see how it goes on some bigger stuff.

Bike's looking great, probably the tastiest 120 I've see. Some people will say it doesn't matter what your bike looks like and, while I agree that how it rides always comes first, it can't hurt to add a little 'feel good' to the mix.

If I'm to be honest, the one thing I don't like is the green ring up front - that's just too much green for me. Just nit picking, though.

What's the total cost so far? Have you kept track?

Yeh I like it, as I was upgrading things anyway it was natural to try and have some fun with the colours.

The front chainring looked god when the standard cranks were on but since going for bb30 FSA cranks with the green on I agree its probably a bit much.... I now need to move to a 34 up front anyway so will get a black on next time ... Providing I can live with the 34 up front that is
  • Destroyed anther set of front pads last week... Sure am eating them up.

Been riding a lot of local trails recently certainly is drying up nice. Looking to change the tyres soon to something less aggressive.
  • Ok so stripped the bike down ahead of some new goodies arriving soon.

Stripped down the rear wheel for the first time it has come in under the weight that I had expected still heavy mind you

    7A0CD89A-DF5F-4E06-8D92-7FDD0346FD93_zps0sbxvb6v.jpg

    Cassette weighs aprox 400g

Ordered a new XT one which is about 350g was hoping to save more here but hey XTR was just not worth it for me

Order some new wheels to so hoping to save considerable weight and add some stretch and stiffness soon.

Also going up a ring size on the 1 x 10 at the front

I don't normally like cannondales, but yours has become pretty awesome.
  • Thanks everyone !!!

Problems with the new XT chain so swapped it after >1hr. Went for the super light SRAM 1091R Hollow.

It looks pretty trick. Hope for better luck with it.

More than just a little trouble with the chain then?

I presume you put it on the right way? Xt chains are directional and have to be put on in the correct orientation.
