Good quote from somewhere on the interweb about Manure being top of the PL. It's like an elephant sitting at the top of a tree. Nobody understands how it got there, but everybody knows it's going to fall off."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

im just fed up of the fraud effectively stealing 35k of my families money over the last near 10 years and not having the personal pride to step away as the modern game has overtaken him. before that it was fair value as everything went into winning, not lining the pockets of the manager and the wiggy owner as it has been since the stadium move.
Let's start with the bit in bold shall we?seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

bet they will be sitting pretty still come monday though...royal bumholing at the grove. what fun.
but then again at his lowest wenger always gets a result to get the flipflopping sheep back on side, so the majority of the tourists at the bowl wont hear a word against him, and this groundhog day of repeated failings and embarrassments will carry on even when he steps up to the board and anoints his successor and pulls the strings from on high.0 -

Regrettably they may well end up being there or thereabouts come next May if City, Chelsea and Arsenal keep shooting themselves in the foot

2 season tickets in family since the old north bank was rebuilt.
wenger was ahead of the game when he first came over, diet, nutrition, scouting, english football was in the dark ages. it took years for the rest to catch up. now everyone has in the last decade or so he has lost the only advanatge he had. he was never a tactician or strategist or motivator, and his ego got so big after the invincibles, and he became increasingly stubborn he will not do what everyone clamors, ie fix the gk issue for years, sign a def mid, a striker, etc etc. he just trousers his 8m a year with 0 pressure and 0 ambition above finishing 4th each year, not addressing glaring deficiencies in the side, and wasting money on perpetual contracts for his favorites and projects.0 -

arsenals deby servicing is now tiny. spurs have debt underwritten by joe lewis but hes fed up0 -
Wenger's inability to fix the glaring leaks in your squad is bizarre year on year. Particularly now the financial shackles seem to have been loosened...
But I still don't think you give him enough credit. Champions league football every year for how many years? Some years more fortuitous than others but still.
I think arsenal are one of the only teams in the league you could recognise from their style of play even if they were playing in a nondescript kit and I think that is because of Wenger. I get this a lot from goners but who are you going to replace him with? You still won't be able to compete financially with Man U, city and Chelsea so what do you think the outcome will be then?

Also what makes you say joe Lewis is fed up? He's never shown any interest in Spurs beyond a financial investment. He's not been to one game in the entire time he's owned the club I don't think so what do you think has changed?Cannondale caad7 ultegra

The Cherries Russian benefactor is calling in his loans next year. About £30m. Not huge in the grands scheme of the big Prem clubs, but for a team like Bournemouth it's immense. Mark my words. Bournemouth will end up like Blackpool.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -

He has been to a few games, admittedly not many though.0 -

He has on many occasions, been tactically wrong regardless of the cost of his squad. The stylish football and slick passing displayed by Arsenal at times is breathtaking and suggests that the team is capable of a lot more. That's what is so frustrating. He can make players flourish but as a collective unit, they could be much much more than the sum of their parts.
I am still flummoxed by not fielding Podolski more often when he did have the opportunity to, for example. Coming off the bench in the CL having not played much and scores 2 goals like taking sweats of children.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

It's a funny position I've found myself in defending the arsenal manager!
I know what you're saying pinno, his ethos definately isn't without its flaws. Even when your 11 starters have seemed capable of really pushing on he never seems to have the quality back up in every position that a manager like morinho ensures in his squads. And there's been a few seasons that have obv faded away badly as a result. Maybe in the past he found it easy to argue that he was financially tied but the last couple of transfer windows have been mixed, and without the same excuse.
But even with all this I think he's done a better job than anyone else could of done in his circumstances. Not just in results but in performances. And I'd be interested in knowing who your ideal replacement would be if and when he goes. I was born in 79' so I remember the George graham arsenal teams as some of my earliest footballing memories. I see a direct comparison between him and morinho. Ok morinho's teams are more dynamic but they have the same suffocating, win At the expense of everything else dullness about them... Be careful what you wish for I guess is what I'm saying. Because there's not many more like wenger out there that I can think of.Cannondale caad7 ultegra

Last Prem games before international break. Looking very bleak for Cherries. I predict a home defeat against Watford. All being well, I shall take to my bike and try to forget about what is happening at Dean Court.
Note:
Cherries have lost their 3 highest profile players (Wilson.Mings.Gradel) to cruciate knee ligament injuries in last month. Should one question the training methods or is it just exceptionally unfortunate?Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -
Looks like Aguero's found a bit of form. And a worldy from the £55m Chelsea reject thrown in
Although TBF it was only Newcastle and you'd have to be really sh1t to drop points against them
Now to offer my support to the Saints this afternoon and the @rse tommorow. Come on boys!Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.0 -
