. Its a bit silly when you hear so called football fans coming out with comments like "ooh I'd rather not win if it meant cheating". Nonsense
Really you still wearing Your Armstrong fan boy Wrist Band?
I might not attend matches as much as I did before marriage and children, But having followed the Gooners home and away for since the late 70's I m no " So called Football Fan". And honestly if my team had to resort to cheating, I d soon turn my back on it! Because I might be a So called Football Fan in your eyes but I ve always been a Sportsman.0 -

Bit touchy Tim. I've not idea what Armstrong has to do with it, :?: Unless you're referring to George! For what it's worth Tim I can tell that you are a true football man, unlike some. And like all football fans you are blind to your team and players wrong doings. So tell me, why did you not turn your back on it when Pires stuck out a leg to con a penalty against Portsmouth to keep the unbeaten record going? Have you a different opinion of Arsenal's all time goalscorer after seeing the methods he resorted to to get France past Ireland? Both blatant cheats. I'm sure there's more if I could be ar**d but you get the point. Every team in sport will resort to underhand tactics to gain an advantage. To try and claim any team doesn't do so is just wrong.0 -

I honestly have got a different opinion of Henry after what he did against Ireland, He went from Hero to Zero in our house and I can 100% say I haven't wanted France to win a game since ( or before ).
As for the Pires/ Stefanovic challenge against Portsmouth, I honestly think there was contact but not enough to go down the way Pires did. ( so yes in my eyes he dived). I would have preferred to not get the penalty/ draw that way and no I don't think any less of Pires as a player so I suppose that does make me slightly hypocritical.
I was talking to an old sparing partner in the pub last night, Must have played nearly 20 years as a centre back against him as a forward on and off. and we both agreed our favourite players and games were the ones where there was a bit/ lot of Physicality and Banter, but we couldn't ever recall anyone lobbying the ref to get an opponent sent off. You just stored it for later or next time and made sure you came out on top.
So again I suppose I am being hypocritical. But in over 25 years of good level football I have never petitioned a ref over a challenge from an opponent, and as a manager of teams I ve always stated that Only the man in the Arm band addresses the Ref.
I m all for Forwards like Costa/ Drogba / Sheerar / Ferguson but at least have the conviction to play your opponent not the Laws or the Ref.0 -
that Martial ain't looking too bad
He's looking really sharp, and totally uninhibited by the size of his transfer fee isn't he? Danny blind in central defence on the other hand...
1st weekend in a while I've managed to watch a fair bit of the footie. The mighty yids winning the only London derby that really mattered this weekend . 3 wins on the bounce too! (2 in the league) With form like this I can see us finishing at least... 8th...
And Diego Costa... He's right up morinho's street isn't he? A player who everyone outside Stamford bridge is probably going to learn to hate. It just feeds into jose's constant attempts to create a siege mentality.Cannondale caad7 ultegra

"learn to hate"? Where have you been? Thanks to Sky and their disgraceful 'Costa crimes' thread that indoctrination began last season.0 -

Cornerblock people don't dislike Costa because of a Sky TV conspiracy. They dislike him because he's a w4nker

As someone said to me at the match yesterday, "he may be a c**t, but he's our c**t".0

Zinedene Zidane did something stupid at the end of his career (M Materazzi) in a world cup final but he'll still be remembered as one of the best attacking midfielders ever. Same with Henry - one silly mistake does not negate the hundreds of fantastic 'clean' goals he scored.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

Not exactly the same pinno
Zidane lost his head ( so to speak ).
Henry blatantly cheated to gain an advantage. Plus Henry played for woolwich arsenal for most of his career so his reputation was already questionable to say the leastCannondale caad7 ultegra

Well this season has certainly go more interesting after this weekend gone
Must get another trip to The Bridge booked so I can go chant Costa's name And the old Chelsea song about United, West Ham and Liverpool. Although I might change some of the names."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

good luck to any gooner women and kids going to the lane tomorrow, just hope you have decent police escort who actually do something, so the neanderthals cant gob on you, attack you and generally pick on lone gooners to chase, beat up etc as they do at league games,

I reckon 6/7 spot at best for us. What with our 30 year rebuilding the team project coinciding with a new stadium project!Cannondale caad7 ultegra

why did you classy fellows ambush her, like you do over kids and women, and like you did last night, 50+ neanderthals chasing down groups of 5 gooners despite being held back in the ground for an hour.
still at least we helped with the ground renovations!
ps. wenger out0
