Worst thing to happen was a penalty early on.

I said to someone just after the semi-finals that I thought the 3 week gap between the last league game and the final was too long. I felt it would be really hard to keep a squad right at the edge of peak performance both in mind and body for that length of time with no competitive action and I am convinced that was a major factor last night.

Not a great game of the bits I managed to catch, but well done to the Scousers. Which I'm sure Arsenal fans will be saying as well...

Absolute shite game, not even good enough to create significant nerves at one nil up whilst they were attacking

    One bonus. Well, a couple.

Tottenham didn't win. It's worse than Chelsea winning.
Klopp deserved something out of the season after the way they played.
    Tottenham didn't win.
It wasn't the usual RM/Barca vs whoever.
I didn't have to watch Ramos cheating.

I didn't have to watch the amateur dramatics of Atletico Madrid nor that cheating greasy spick Ronaldo.
    Tottenham didn't win.

I was at the CL final, obviously gutted by the result but the whole weekend was great. From leaving London City airport on Friday morning until we arrived back there last night we had a great time, and every interaction with both the locals and the Liverpool fans we came across were super positive. In the back of my mind were worries about what would happen if a bunch of idiots couldn't handle their drink and things kicked off, but the whole weekend seemed to go off pretty peacefully despite their being in the region of 80,000 fans from both countries in Madrid.

Definitely think the early penalty completely ruined the game as a spectacle, but it is what it is. As a fan inside the ground it was the most nervous I've ever been for a game. If only we had tucked one of our chances in the 2nd half away, I think we'd have gone on to win, but it wasn't to be.....

Although dull, it seemed to be a very amicable affair on the pitch.

    Haha, that's fair.

Definitely think there being a 3 week break prior to the game wasn't ideal for either side.
