In my experience, proximity to the team is usually off-putting rather than helpful.
Being a decent 40 minutes away is probably ideal.
Near enough to get there regularly, far enough away that you don't endure the endless sh!te football fans offer up week in, week out.0 -

@Stevo: Dems da rools - £50 Chelsea do not win the league or the CL this season. Simple. Chelsea win either and I will pay £50 towards a charity of your choice, Chelsea don't win either the PL or the CL and I will pay £50 towards a charity of your choosing.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

Even it up. Arsenal has to win either the EPL or the Europa Cup.
Whoever wins the least trophies pays up. Chuck in the FA Cup if you wish. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Luiz was at his chaotic incomptetent best last night so Lukaku might fancy his chances at the weekend. Roma deserve some credit though as well.0

Best spurs performance I’ve seen in years last night. Atmosphere at Wembley was excellent too - I still hate the place and can’t wait for the new stadium to open, but last night was the first time it felt a bit like home.
The flair players at spurs are the ones that get all the attention, but the one I’d call out this season is the new centre back Sanchez. He’s only 21 but has slotted straight into the side and is just so efficient in everything he does. Unusual for a CB to be that capable so young.
The only frustrating thing is we play shite against West Ham and Man Utd, then pull that performance out of the bag.......the life of a spurs fan.......0 -

But... unlike a few, you are on a very steady upward trend.
The teams in the CL that are standing out are Spuds, Barca, BM, Man C. Might be a very different CL this year.
Now, dare I say it - Tottenham are capable of winning it this season and that's really something.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

Yep, definitely on an upward trend. We get the occasional blip, but each season we’re just a bit better than the last. Games like last night really help, it gives the players just a bit more belief in themselves.0 -

If the current PL trend continues, this may be to your advantage; if City run away with it and there's no chance of the league win, Chelsea nor performing*, Arsenal in a similar position then only City and Man U will be above Tottenham. This guarantees next years CL position with a place behind available too. So, they can go all out in the CL to see how far they can go.

Yep, agreed. To be honest I was fearing this season as we had really struggled at Wembley before, but so far we’ve had a better than expected start to the season.0 -
